The furies

Here I would also like to tell a story, and that is Agamemnon Agamemnon. He was the guy in the Iliad, the commander of the Greek Coalition in the Trojan War, who led the coalition to conquer the city of Troy and eventually won the victory.

Vengeance (2)

However, on his way to the Trojan War, he accidentally insulted the goddess Artemis, and he offered his daughter Iphigenie to her as a sacrifice.

Vengeance (2)

After the war, he returned to his hometown. His wife, Cletemnestra, harbored a grudge against Agamemnon's sacrifice of his eldest daughter Iphigenie for offending artemis, the goddess of hunting, and murdered him with his lover Hephaestus.

Vengeance (2)

We can think again, and what is more interesting is that Clytemnestra and his secret lover, on the pretext of murdering their daughter, stabbed Agamemnon to death in the bathtub.

Vengeance (2)

Then their son Orestes killed his mother because his father killed his sister and his mother killed his (Orestes) father, so he (Orestes) killed his mother. It's tragic, right?

Vengeance (2)

As we mentioned earlier, killing one's parents is the worst crime in the eyes of the gods. Thus, The Furies, the goddess of vengeance, was sent by the gods to torture Orestes, who was the last living person in the familial murder. The vengeful Goddess The Furies began to go after him, whipping him with a whip, always making him scream, never giving him a moment's rest, and no matter where he went or what he did, he could not escape fate.

Vengeance (2)

Orestes was unbearable and asked an oracle for help. The oracle then sent him to Athens to ask the goddess Athena Athena.

Vengeance (2)

As the goddess of wisdom, after hearing his request, she came up with a novel idea - trial.

Vengeance (2)

In fact, the first trial was settled. Eager to witness the scene, several gods came down from Mount Olympus to participate in the trial. Twelve Athenian citizens served as jurors and Apollo Apollo served as lawyers for those arrested. The Furies, the goddess of vengeance, stood there, as orestes accusers, longing for bloodshed.

Vengeance (2)

The Nemesis the Furies gave convincing evidence, but eventually the jury the jury disagreed.

Vengeance (2)

So Athena Athena held a decisive vote. In fact, Athena Supported Agamemnon's achievements in the Trojan War. So, in the end, she acquitted Orestes orestes.

Vengeance (2)

In the details of the Trojan War and the murders of Orestes throughout, Athena Athena begins to realize that it is time for humanity to transcend blood feud and revenge. After intense negotiations and strategic sweet talk from Athena Athena, The Furies agreed to become a constructive and righteous positive force.

Vengeance (2)

They reinvent themselves and classify themselves as good people. It also acknowledges that the pending jury should have left Orestes guilty. Thus, mercy triumphed over harshness.

Vengeance (2)

Athena Athena also declared Athens the City of Justice. All justice must take place in court, not simply by individuals.
