The wide spread of Confucianism: the influence of Xiliangle on the culture of the Central Plains; the spread of Buddhism in the art of grotto monasteries contributed to the unique Western culture. Famous cave temples in The Hexi area are: Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes, Anxi Yulin Grottoes, as well as Yumen Changma, Jiuquan Zhangshu Mountain, Sunan Horseshoe Temple and Jinta Temple, Liangzhou TiantiShan and other grotto temples.
