01How to determine whether the mental health is healthy?

Mental health refers to being able to cope with social, natural and self-changes with positive and effective mental activities and a stable and normal psychological state.

Among the most influential mental health standards in the world are the mental health standards proposed by Maslow and Mittelman:

(1) Have a full sense of self-security;

(2) Be able to fully understand themselves and reasonably assess their abilities;

(3) Realistic ideals and goals of life;

(4) Not detached from the surrounding reality;

(5) Maintain the integrity and harmony of personality;

(6) Good at learning and growing from experience;

(7) Maintain good interpersonal relationships;

(8) It can be appropriately and reasonably cathartic and adjust emotions.

The "criteria" mentioned above can be used as a reference or as a goal to improve mental health.

However, in real life, to judge whether the other party's psychology is healthy, it is still necessary to combine the factors we are in, such as the living environment, life background, age and other factors to make a comprehensive assessment and judgment, and it is far from enough to rely on standards.

02 What are the consequences of psychological "unhealthy"?

Mental health is an important factor in maintaining our physical and mental health, and maintaining an unhealthy mental state can easily lead to a series of mental and psychological diseases.

For example, because of the pressure of the workplace, marriage and parent-child relationship, people are in a long-term state of tension and depression, if they cannot be effectively alleviated and adjusted, it is easy to lead to mental and psychological diseases:

Depression, anxiety, insomnia, schizophrenia, neurosis, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, phobia...

At the same time, these diseases will continue to worsen, which in turn will bring greater distress and negative impact to people's mental health.

For psychological diseases, the best preparation we can do is early prevention, early detection, and early treatment.

If we can find out and effectively adjust in time, then this psychological unhealthy state may be effectively alleviated and improved.

However, if the effect of this adjustment is not obvious, or we are not even aware of it, then we need to actively try reliable ways, such as consulting a regular psychologist or psychological counselor to try to improve.
