On October 26, residents of a community in Hongfuyuan posted on Weibo that in addition to the people who were isolated at home, there were also many residents of key prevention and control buildings in the community, who needed to go to the hotel for centralized isolation. However, pets are not allowed in quarantine hotels, and residents are not allowed to keep pets in other people's homes. Considering that quarantine is usually more than 14 days, many pet owners are unable to feed in time, endangering the safety of pets.
"Is it possible that the little living beings can only be starved to death?" The netizen questioned in Weibo. Jimu News reporter saw that there are more than 200 members of the Hongfuyuan pet group, and during the quarantine period, the owners are facing various pet care problems. Some people's cats have just given birth to a litter of kittens, and they have gone to the hotel for centralized isolation before they have replenished enough cat food; there are also pet dogs in the family who are old and cannot eat on their own.
The reporter learned that there are more than 20,000 residents in Hongfuyuan Community, and as of October 30, the number of confirmed cases in the district has reached 11, which is the only high-risk area in Beijing.

The netizen told the Jimu News reporter that she herself was isolated at home in Hongfuyuan, but she saw many residents in the pet group in the community worried about this, so she posted a Weibo for help. She learned that in the past few days, some people have also suggested that volunteers help take care of it, but the number of pet owners is too large, and volunteers are too busy. On October 29, the unit doors of the community and buildings were completely closed, and volunteers could not enter.
The Jimu News reporter combed and found that the problem of no one to take care of the pet after the owner was isolated was not the first time. In January this year, after the outbreak of the epidemic in Beijing's Daxing District, there was also a situation in which the centralized isolation of people led to no one to take care of the pets in the home. Later, the Daxing District Government proposed countermeasures, for this type of personnel, unified arrangements for owners to bring pets together for isolation and observation. At the same time, animal quarantine professionals are stationed in isolation points to do a good job in animal epidemic prevention. In Harbin, Heilongjiang, residents handed over the keys to their homes to the staff before quarantine, and community workers helped take care of their pets.
