Many underground Party members arrested by our Party have sacrificed their lives for the revolutionary cause of our country before they learned of the founding of New China.
On November 27, 1949, on the eve of liberation, the remnants of the Kuomintang carried out a bloody massacre of these two places, and the famous Sister Jiang was heroically righteous in this massacre, and one person in the prison cell where Sister Jiang was once imprisoned survived the massacre, she was Sheng Guoyu on Sister Jiang's bunk, and the only woman among the 15 survivors. So how did she save her life in such a brutal massacre?

In 1949, the 21-year-old Sheng Guoyu graduated from the Matjiang Simple Normal College, and soon after, he became acquainted with Yu Zicheng, an underground party of the Communist Party of China.
However, the good times were not long, on October 17, 1948, due to the betrayal of traitors, many underground party members were arrested by secret agents, and the agents found Sheng Guoyu's name in the underground party's belongings, and then broke into Sheng Guoyu's residence, arrested him, locked him up in Matjiang, and then transferred to Chongqing's Zhadidong Prison, sheng Guoyu, who had just been sent, saw Sister Jiang, who was injured and tortured, and Sister Jiang was living in her upper bunk, according to Sheng Guoyu's recollection: Every time Sister Jiang wanted to go to the upper bunk, because her fingers could not exert her strength, I had to struggle to hook the armrest with my wrist, and whenever this happened, I couldn't help but shed tears while helping to push her to the top bunk.
At that time, Sister Jiang, who was left in prison with the name of Jiang Xueqin, when she was first imprisoned, due to her short stature, many people were worried that she could withstand the torture of the agents, but what she did not expect was that after enduring the torture of tiger stools, fingers, and hanging duck floating water, Sister Jiang was still heroic and unyielding, and Sheng Guoyu was a witness to all this.

On November 14, 1949, a group of spies suddenly broke into the second female prison where Jiang Jie and Sheng Guoyu were being held, claiming to transfer Jiang Jie, Li Qinglin and other underground parties elsewhere, and then rudely dragged Jiang Jie out of the cell, and the rest of the people, although angry and gritted their teeth, could only watch As Jiang Jie was taken away.
Knowing that she was going to be taken away, Sister Jiang was very calm, and after sorting out her dress, she asked Sheng Guoyu for a mirror, and after combing her hair, she said goodbye to everyone one by one, and the impatient agents kept urging, Sheng Guoyu and other prisoners waved to send Sister Jiang away, everyone knows that Sister Jiang is probably a fierce duoji.
Not long after Sister Jiang was taken out, Sheng Guoyu in the cell heard a rush of gunfire, and he understood that Sister Jiang was probably already sacrificed heroically, but the matter was far from over.

After Sister Jiang's sacrifice, an unusually tense atmosphere began to envelop the entire Zha di Dong Prison. Three days later, on November 27, the sound of artillery shelling from the People's Liberation Army was invigorated by everyone, although it rained in Chongqing that day. But the hearts of all the inmates were ignited by the flame of victory, but what they did not know was that many of them could no longer see the sun of tomorrow. That night, the inmates of the second male prison suddenly found that the agents had changed into large light bulbs in the office, and then nervously went in and out, destroying confidential documents or transferring them out.
After dealing with these things, the spies rushed to Sheng Guoyu's cell where he was about to go to bed, and shouted loudly: Get up, get up, and hand over! After mentioning two groups of people, everyone was gathered in the eighth room where the male prisoners were being held, the agents immediately closed the cell door and locked it, Sheng Guoyu felt that the last moment was coming, soon a group of agents with guns rushed into the corridor, aimed at the cell door for crazy strafing, the bullets whizzed in the cell, a moment of work, the prisoner fell a large piece, Sheng Guoyu also pretended to fall, because of hearing the child's crying, the inhuman agent made up several shots at the corpse and the child, fortunately because Sheng Guoyu fell on the opposite side of the door, Only to be stabbed by the butt of the gun a few times, and did not repair the gun.
Sheng Guoyu thought that she had escaped the disaster, but the next thing made her feel desperate, a group of agents poured gasoline into the cell, ignited the fire and immediately ignited a raging fire, and the whole building was crumbling in the flames. After the ideological struggle, Sheng Guoyu rushed out without hesitation when she thought that the horizontal and vertical were all dead, and after rushing out, she found that the agents outside had long since withdrawn, and did not dare to blindly go downstairs, so she hid in the nearby men's toilet, hid in the urinal with the other two male comrades, and passed out before long.

The next day, in the early morning of November 28, the fiery Zha di Dong Prison attracted the attention of the surrounding people, who came to check on the people who found Sheng Guoyu and other people in a coma and rescued them, in this massacre, only 15 of the 180 people survived, and Sheng Guoyu was the only remaining woman.
After being rescued, Sheng Guoyu feared being caught again, so he fled to a nearby mountain, and it was not long before he heard that after the liberation of Chongqing, Sheng Guoyu quietly went down the mountain and gained a new life.
After that, Sheng Guoyu returned to his hometown of Matjiang County, and successively worked in the mass committee and the daily miscellaneous company and other units, continuing to dedicate herself, during which the 35-year-old Sheng Guoyu lost a son due to the root cause of the illness she fell in prison, fortunately, two years later, she gained a daughter.
In 1982, Sheng Guoyu left for retirement, but she never forgot that her husband failed to join the Communist Party of China before his death, which was his lifelong regret, and this became her only wish, the organization was greatly moved, in 1996, Sheng Guoyu was specially approved to join the Communist Party of China, although she was 70 years old at this time, but also completed her husband's last wish and realized her long-cherished wish.
On July 27, 2014, 88-year-old Sheng Guoyu died peacefully at home.
