I didn't pay too much attention to it, passing through Xinzhou many times, but I didn't stop by to see it. The ancient city of Xinzhou, known as Xiurong County in ancient times, was founded in the 20th year of Jian'an in the Eastern Han Dynasty, with a history of nearly 1800 years, and is also a historical and cultural city on the Tea Road of China and Russia.
The first time I remembered the ancient city of Xinzhou, it was also the New Year this year, I didn't know where to go, so I remembered such a place at a specific time. Taiyuan departure to Xinzhou Ancient City is more than an hour to the distance, because I plan to stay one night, so I booked a hotel online in advance.

The three stores are named after the three hotels in the north and south, which used to be dedicated to the mule and horse gang and camel caravan. Christian missionaries once built a chapel here, and later it also became the site of the Agricultural Vocational School, the Regional Party Committee, the Party School of the Prefectural Committee, and the Xinfang Staff Dormitory.
Nowadays, it has become a hotel with a main hot spring, and due to the epidemic, the hot spring is not open, so I did not book a hot spring room, but the front desk still helped me upgrade the room type for free. There is a hot spring pool in the room, this time there is no soaking in the hot spring, it is equivalent to an early inspection, I think when the hot spring here is open, I will come again.
From the hotel to the direction of the ancient city gate, all the way is full of newly built shops, and there are not many tourists on the whole street. It was not far to walk to the gate of the ancient city, and when I looked back, I found that the hotel I stayed in belonged to the hot spring resort. There should be three spa hotels in this resort area, and I stayed in one of them. Looking at the newly built shops on both sides of the nearby road, I think it will be a popular place in the future.
Without taking a few steps to the ancient city, a short distance, to the ancient city is a different scene in an instant. Tourists came one after another, before arriving at the ancient city, because I saw that the hotel was very deserted, I always thought that even if it was the New Year, there were not many tourists here, and when I entered the ancient city, I was instantly infected by the bustling scene, and it seemed that the taste of the New Year was back.
There are many attractions in the ancient city of Xinzhou, and Xiurong Academy is one of the more popular attractions. Xiurong Academy was founded in the 40th year of the Qianlong Dynasty, and after its completion, it replaced Xinzhou Confucianism and became the highest school in Xinzhou at that time. In the 28th year of the Qing Dynasty, Guangxu was renamed "Xinxing Academy", and Xiurong Academy was built according to the terrain and consisted of the upper, middle and lower courtyards. The upper court is the main courtyard, and the middle and lower houses are the study houses.
The ancient city is unexpected, the food is everywhere, of course, it is also the main Shanxi characteristics. For the problem of more than one street of snacks in the scenic spot now, I have an extremely tolerant attitude. After all, the food in the scenic spot is reasonably priced and tastes good, and it is also very good to come around and eat.
In my opinion, the cuisine of the ancient city of Xinzhou is not one street, it is many streets, and there seem to be more food streets here. Because in time for the New Year, there are many people. I didn't care to go to the popular shop, so I found a shop with a location and ate a hot soup pancake. The pancakes are crispy and fluffy, and the soup is hot and comfortable to eat. Coupled with the reasonable price, once again I have a great improvement in the food in the scenic spot.
After eating, I went up to the city wall to see, bought a tour ticket, and the tour bus took the tourists a long way, which surprised me. Got out of the car and walked a short walk to where I lived. Next to the left and right passengers, there is also a section of the city wall, which has not yet been developed, but there are also tourists who come here for a walk.
During the Chinese New Year, there were supposed to be some performances and the like in the ancient city, but they were cancelled because there were too many people. I didn't look much at the lights in the ancient city at night, there were simply too many people, really more than I imagined. I really didn't have the heart to move in the crowd, so I went back to the hotel early in the evening.
Although this xinzhou ancient city tour catches up with too many people in the New Year, it is just a hurry, but the atmosphere is still very good. And I also know that in addition to being an ancient city, it is also a place for a hot spring vacation. I think I should come back and experience the hot springs here. Let's wait until the next time there are few people in the off-season to experience a different style of the ancient city.
