author:Beijing Moyuantang

There were several plums in the corner of the wall, and Ling Han opened alone. Haruka is not snow, for there is dark incense to come. "Plum, although it does not have the tall beauty of poplar, the evergreen of bamboo, nor the grace and luxury of peony, but it has its own difference. Mei, beautiful and vulgar, Ling Han alone, proud of the snow fighting frost, there is a "Mei Su Sun snow three points white, snow but lose plum a piece of incense" praise. It does not compete with a hundred flowers for the bright spring, nor does it ever show off its beauty, but its elegant and handsome demeanor and the spirit of Ling Han liuxiang are convincing, and the literati love and praise it, and it has also become the soul of the painter's creation, and there have been many painters in the past.

According to records, the ancients began to paint plums in the Wei and Jin Dynasties, and until the Song Dynasty, plum paintings were famous. The Song Dynasty was a key period in the development of Plum painting in China, and the Song Dynasty's love for plums directly affected the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. "The shadow is shallow and shallow, and the dark incense floats at dusk of the moon". When it comes to plum paintings in the Song Dynasty, the first thing that comes to mind is lin kui, the author of this "song of the ages"; the famous reclusive poet Lin Kui; the Southern Song Dynasty Yang Wu blameless who "has to make up for a plum, the price is not less than 10,000 horses"; there is "plum blossom portrait of the world" "plum blossom originator" Zhongren; and "in the ice and snow forest, different peach and plum mixed with fang dust." Suddenly, a night of fragrant hair, scattered into a clean spring. "The crown of the "plum blossom house owner" at the end of the Yuan and the beginning of the Ming Dynasty. His "White Plum" tells the mood of the painters of the past generations. In addition, there are Zheng Banqiao, one of the "Eight Monsters of Yangzhou" in the Qing Dynasty, who painted plum blossoms but painted the artistic conception of "touching thousands of trees and pleasing only five flowers", and Zhao Zhiqian, the "Mei'an" of the Qing Dynasty, and so on, all of whom are masters of painting plums. And Chen Lu can also be said to be the leader among Mei painters.

Chen Lu, a Ming Dynasty painter (according to the existing paintings, it is known that he was active during the orthodox years of Emperor Ming Yingzong), the year of birth and death is unknown, the character charter, the character line, the number Jing zhai, the alias such as a hermit, Hui Ji (present-day Shaoxing, Zhejiang) people. Gong poetry, good at painting pine, bamboo, Lan Hui, painting ink plum is the best, and Wang Qian in the same period. Although the artistic styles of the two families are different, Chen Lu's pen power is really above the Wang family. His biographies are all found in the "History of Painting", "Ming Painting Record", "Pictorial Treasure Jian Continuation", "Shaoxing Fu Zhi", "History of Silent Poetry", "Yue Painting Seeing and Hearing" and so on.

Our museum has its "Dark Fragrance Of the Moon Shadow", 140 cm in length, 54 cm in width, ink and silk. The whole picture adopts the longitudinal interception method, showing the local style of an old plum. The plum branches stretch upwards, like a moon, quite imposing. Painted on the bright crescent moon, there is a sense of clouds and mist, moving in the quiet, and the aftertaste is long. The dot dyeing of The ink plum is also just right, using a simple double hook drawing method to circle the flower type, and each flower and a bud have their own state. The width is mainly light ink, thick ink branches, poles, branches, flowers are interspersed in an orderly manner, complex but not chaotic, and the fragrance is far away.

Huizhou Luofu Mountain Chong Fei Guan Mei Tu

Regarding Luofu Mountain, there are three in China, namely: one in Anzhou District, Mianyang, Sichuan, one in Boluo County, Huizhou, Guangdong Province, and one in Yongjia County, Zhejiang Province. It is believed that the plum should be related to Huizhou, Guangdong. Luofu Mountain is one of the top ten famous mountains of Taoism in China. Historian Sima Qian compared Luofu Mountain to "Yue Yue", so Luofu Mountain is known as "the first mountain in Lingnan". "Mountain Chronicle" Yun: "Luofu Ben two mountains, Luo Mountain Range Fa Yu Ling, and Fu Shan is one of the peaks of Penglai." When Yao Shi came, he would float to the sea, Fu Yu Luoshan, hence the name Yun. ”。

Luofu Mountain not only has a long history, but also has a moving story: according to legend, the Sui Dynasty scholar Zhao Shixiong degraded the official in Huizhou and moved to the area around Luofu Mountain. Take a drunken nap during a night trip to Mount Wolla. Dreaming of drinking with a plainly dressed woman, this woman is fragrant. There was another boy dressed in green, singing and dancing at the side. When the sky was about to light, Zhao Shixiong woke up, but found himself sleeping under a large plum tree, and there were kingfishers singing on the tree. It turned out that the woman in the dream was the plum tree in front of her, and the boy in green was the kingfisher. At this time, the moon had already fallen, and the stars in the sky had also been tilted, leaving Zhao Shixiong alone. Since then, "a lifetime of cool plums, hard times and hardships". When Su Dongpo, a great scholar of the Song Dynasty, traveled to this place, he thought of this allusion and did not feel confused, and wrote the famous Yongmei poem "Use the Former Rhyme Again". Among them, the verse "Luofu Mountain under the plum blossom village, jade snow for bone ice for the soul." "It has become a famous sentence throughout the ages.

Zhou Mengzhong's poem titled in this "Dark Fragrance of the Moon Shadow" appropriately depicts the scene in this painting. Paintings and poems are the spirit of its cold and lonely, dark fragrance and long-distance overflowing spirit. Chen Lu's works have not been handed down much, and are scattered in collection institutions at home and abroad, and at present, only a few works such as "Wan yu tu", "Smoke Cage Yushu Tu", "Plum Blossom Tu", "Plum Blossom Pushing Tent Map", "Jade Rabbit Scrambling Qing Tu", "Studio Qing Ying Tu", "Tui Tent Spring Intention" and so on are only a few. Later generations commented that Chen Lu painted Mei Quanxue Wang's crown, and some people also commented that his painting of Mei was inheriting the mantle of Wang Guan.

Wang Mian (1287-1359) was a famous painter, poet, and seal engraver of the Yuan Dynasty. ZiYuan Zhang (一作元蘇), also known as "Food Zhongweng", "Plum Blossom House Owner", "Huiji Foreign History", etc., Ishizu, Zhejiang Shaoxing Zhujiren. He was born into poverty, became a talented man by self-taught, did not enter the army, lived in seclusion, planted plum branches, called himself the "owner of the plum blossom house", and made a living selling paintings. Throughout his life, he planted plums, winged plums, and painted plums. The paintings of plum blossoms are densely branched, interspersed with momentum, and full of vitality. He is also good at writing bamboo stones and can also engrave.

Wang Mian is famous for painting plums, especially Momei. Wang Mian Momei's fine branches are just soft in the middle, and he writes more tender branches, and teaches Song Zhongren and Yang Wuchai, and has made some innovations, which have a greater impact on future generations. A poem by Wang Mian "Mo Mei" is enough to explain the characteristics of his plum paintings: "My family washes the pond head tree, and each flower blooms light ink marks." Don't let people exaggerate the color, just flow clean and full of air. ”。 Its unique method of painting flowers creates a unique setback, although it does not set color, but the natural charm of plum blossoms is vividly outlined, and its plum blossoms are even more allegorical to the painter's arrogant and hidden thoughts and emotions.

And Chen Lu's painting of Mei can be described as a convenient use of Wang Guan's "Flying White Method". And the painting method of clouds and moons sets off the fragrance of plums, giving people a feeling of breeze floating. Chen Lu's painting Mei is extremely similar to Wang Guan in terms of pen and ink charm, especially the S-shaped composition method of the main branch and the painting method of Rui. Although he inherited the crown of the king, he did not stick to the same shape and had his own unique taste for painting plums. His "Momei" style can be summarized by the four words "Shen Yun Xiuyi". This "Dark Fragrance Of the Moon Shadow" fully reflects his strong painting skills and superb artistic level.
