With a deep affection for the countryside, Li Xing, a university farmer, majored in animal nutrition and feed science when he was a graduate student at Zhejiang University. After graduating from graduate school, Li Xing applied for a US-funded enterprise in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, engaged in pig feed formulation and development. In 2017, Li Xing resigned from a foreign company and opened his own pig breeding enterprise. At the end of 2020, Li Xing returned to the village with a sense of responsibility and mission to change the face of his hometown and run for the secretary of the village party branch.

In 2021, Li Xing was elected as the secretary of the party branch and the director of the village committee of Shikeng Village in Chuantan Town, and in October of the same year, he was elected as a deputy to the Municipal People's Congress. Shikeng Village consists of 16 natural villages, with 530 households and 1843 people, more than 10 kilometers away from Chuantan Market Town and more than 60 kilometers from the county seat. The traffic is inconvenient, the appearance of the village is poor, and the economy of the village is almost zero. At the beginning of his term of office, Li Xing raised funds to build two bridges to facilitate the travel of villagers. In order to increase the economic income of the village, on the one hand, he introduced the able people of the village and the villagers to start a business and set up a breeding enterprise; on the other hand, he renovated the abandoned primary school in the village and leased it to these enterprises, which not only revitalized the fixed assets in the village, but also built a platform for the enterprise to display and communicate. In order to strive for greater financial support, Li Xing won the 14th Five-Year Provincial Rural Revitalization Village for the village.

The key to rural revitalization lies in industrial revitalization. Li Xing put forward the idea of developing the pig industry, and once this idea was proposed, it was strongly supported by the villagers, and in less than a week, more than 14 million yuan was raised. "These are the hard-earned money of the villagers, and I must manage them well." Looking at these funds that are full of everyone's ardent expectations, Li Xing said solemnly. At present, a farm that can breed more than 6,000 pigs a year has begun to take shape and will be put into production early next year. "It is expected to make a profit of more than 2 million yuan next year." Li Xing said.

Driven and instigated by Li Xing, the college students in the village have successively returned to their hometowns to develop rural industries. At the same time, in the traditional industry, Li Xing has introduced new technologies, new concepts, etc., to develop aquaculture, space white lotus, ecological tea and other industries, increasing the income of villagers and the village economy. "He changed the villagers' original planting ideas, solved the problem of difficult selection and sales, and changed our village." Li Zhengdong, a retired village cadre in Shikeng Village, praised.
