I wrote this book to try to solve my own problem, but I didn't realize that it was the problem of the entire century. The book "The Indifferent Man" is exactly what the author himself said.
A century later, when I read this classic novel, I can still feel these practical meanings.

The Indifferent Man by Alberto Moravia (1907–1990)
Moravia, together with Calvino and Xia Xia, has been collectively called "the three masters of modern Italian literature" by critics.
At the age of 22, Moravia became famous by publishing Europe's first existentialist novel, The Indifferent Man. In the book, Moravia writes with a cold stroke of the modern people's ideological crisis and denounces the "apathy" that has corrupted modern society.
In the mid-20th century, he successively published "Roman Woman", "The Same Stream", "Contempt" and other huge works, calmly examining the love world of modern people and the inner world of the frustrated, recording the spiritual crisis of an era, and exploring people's action, human responsibility and how people can better exist.
In the Italian literary world, he is recognized as a great writer who was too late to win the Nobel Prize in Literature, and the Nobel Prize archives reveal that he has been nominated 15 times.
