It is understood that Yantai is an important export base for fresh aquatic animals in Shandong Province, with an export volume of 4311.9 tons to Japan and South Korea in 2020, including pufferfish, octopus, sea bass fry, scallops and other 8 species. In order to support the development of this characteristic industry at the local level, Yantai Customs has arranged special personnel to collect and study the relevant laws and regulations and customs clearance requirements of importing countries such as Japan and South Korea, conduct scientific risk analysis, establish a national biosecurity monitoring system integrating "enterprise self-inspection and self-control + official safety risk and disease monitoring", guide the standardized management of farms or transit farms, and ensure that exported live aquatic animals meet the standards of importing countries.

In addition, Yantai Customs also provides 7×24 hours of appointment overtime, arranges special personnel to dock with enterprises, and implements business such as preparation, visa and inspection and supervision in advance, so as to shorten the customs clearance and release time to the greatest extent, effectively improve the freshness rate of export fresh aquatic products, and ensure the competitiveness of enterprises in foreign markets.
