In fact, the reason why Hu Yousong married Li Zongren is not without purpose, but not for money, but for two considerations, first, Li Zongren is a patriot, a hero of the Battle of Taierzhuang, and now breaks through many obstacles to return to China, which makes her very admirable; second, it is her special status.
Hu Yousong's mother is also not an ordinary person, that is, the famous female star Hu Die in the Republic of China period, at first, Hu Die gave her the name Hu Ruomei, which means that she hopes that her life will be as strong as plum blossoms.

Later, Hu Yousong did fulfill her promise, and after Li Zongren's death in 1969, she has been living on her own salary, handing over all the savings and living expenses left by Li Zongren to the state, and handing over more than 160 important photos of Li Zongren to the Chinese Historical Archives.
In 1996, after the completion of the Taierzhuang Battle Museum, Hu Yousong personally visited the museum and donated more than 60 precious relics left by Li Zongren to this museum. In order to show respect for her, the museum specially hired her as the honorary director of the museum.
After Li Zongren's death, Hu Yousong never married again, in order to have some sustenance, learned to paint, small achievements, and later donated all the proceeds of his paintings to Hope Primary School, to which she said: "Mr. Li's patriotic spirit has always been engraved in my heart and will never be erased. ”
In his later years, Hu Yousong took refuge in Buddhism, and lived a life of the Dharma Name Miaohui Resident, the Qinglan Ancient Buddha.
On November 25, 2008, Hu Yousong died at the age of 69 at jinshan Temple in Qingyun County, Dezhou, Shandong Province.
