"Taishi Gong", "Sima Qian" and "Shi Ji"

"Shi Ji" was originally the common name of ancient history books, Sima Qian called his own work "Dashi Gongshu", and Ban Gu recorded it in the "Book of Han • Yiwen Zhi", in which "Tai Shi Gong" one hundred and thirty articles" were written directly. Even in the Later Han Dynasty, Ying Shao's "Customs and Customs" and Xun Yue's "Han Ji" mention that this book only calls it "Taishi Gongji", and has not yet subordinated the term "Shi Ji" to Sima Qian.

It was not until the Tang Dynasty compiled the Book of Sui that the "One Hundred and Thirty Volumes of the History" was officially listed as the first of the "History Department", and the annotation was "One volume of the catalogue, and the Hanzhong Book ordered Sima Qian to write".

As a result, the name of "Shi Ji" evolved from a common name to a proper name, and the three words "Tai Shi Gong" were combined with Sima Qian's name, and the three became inseparable.

To this day, there are "chronicles" such as "Spring and Autumn" with chronological orders, "national histories" limited by region, such as "Chinese" and "National Policies", and "political history" preserved in the form of documents and documents, such as "Shang Shu".
