The thrush family is a worldwide small to medium-sized passerine bird with a strong beak, strong and straight. The tail is usually medium-long, with different plumage, generally darker, gray, brown to black, and some species with bright colors. The mouth is short and strong, the mouth edge is smooth, and there are missing or small hooks at the front of the upper mouth, and it is good at chirping. The nostrils are conspicuous, not covered by hanging feathers, and have whiskers. The wings are predominantly rounded, sometimes with obvious wing markings, with 10 primary flight feathers and the first being very short. The tail feathers are usually twelve, and occasionally ten or fourteen. The tail is different, square or slightly rounded, shorter and flattened, or longer and convex. The legs are medium, the tarsal toes are long and strong, and the leading edge is mostly covered with boot-like scales.
