Wu Zhiming: Make concerted efforts to draw the largest concentric circles and continue to write a new chapter in the cause of multi-party cooperation

In December 2020, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China issued the newly revised Regulations on the United Front Work of the Communist Party of China (hereinafter referred to as the Regulations), which elevated General Secretary Xi Jinping's important ideological achievements on strengthening and improving united front work and a series of plans and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee on united front work in the new era into intra-Party regulations of the Communist Party of China. This is an important measure for strengthening the CPC's centralized and unified leadership over united front work, promoting the formation of a pattern of united front work, comprehensively planning the development of the united front in the face of the new era, and raising the scientific, standardized, and institutionalized level of united front work.

"The greater the changes, the more we must do a good job in developing the united front and carrying out the united front work well." The Fifth Plenary Session of the Nineteenth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China sounded the clarion call for a new journey of comprehensively building a modern socialist country, and in the face of major changes unprecedented in a century, new developments and changes have taken place in the international and domestic situations, and challenges are unprecedented. Historical experience has proved countless times that the united front is an important magic weapon for the CPC's cause to win victories and must be upheld for a long time. The revision and issuance of the "Regulations" has realized the unity of theory and operability, upgraded some specific practical achievements into rigid institutional provisions, and made the implementation of the united front work more specific and detailed, more rules to follow, and more rules to follow.

"Today, when will the long wisp be tied up in your hand?" Standing at the historical crossroads of realizing the goal of the "two hundred years" struggle, and in the face of the willful throwing of the pot by some hostile forces in the world, smearing everywhere, wanton interference, and frequently showing the lower limit of the encirclement, pursuit, and interception, we must plan to move backwards, accumulate thick and thin hair, and insist that "the most important thing is to do our own things well." The newly revised "Regulations" are not only another important milestone in the development of the united front cause in the new era, but also a calm plan to solve the problem in the face of the current international environment, which will surely gather more extensive wisdom and strength to achieve the second centenary goal.

The "Regulations" point out that "democratic parties are good advisers, good helpers, and good colleagues of the COMMUNIST Party of China." As democratic parties, we must accurately grasp the basic requirements for building a socialist political party with Chinese characteristics in the new era, strengthen our own construction, conscientiously perform our duties, continuously improve the "five capabilities", actively build a new type of party relationship, and contribute strength and wisdom to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

The first is to be a clear person in politics. Deeply understand the important magic weapon role of the united front, strengthen the correct political stance, maintain a sober understanding of major issues of right and wrong, and always maintain a high degree of consistency with the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core in ideology, politics, and action.

The second is to be an insider in the performance of duties. "Good staff officers, good helpers, and good colleagues" is a requirement for socialist political parties with Chinese characteristics to participate in the political party, and it is also the responsibility and responsibility of democratic parties in the new era.

The third is to be a real person in words and deeds. The leading bodies of democratic parties at all levels should adhere to the principle of upright conduct, adhere to the orientation of problems, improve their work style, enhance their ability to discover, analyze, and solve their own problems, unite and lead the members they have contacted, constantly pool resources and forces, expand the depth and breadth of the construction of think tanks, and enhance the effectiveness and pertinence of making suggestions and consultations and consolidating consensus.

The beautiful blueprint for comprehensively building a modern socialist country has been unfolded, and we must, with a sense of urgency that the time is not waiting for us and a sense of responsibility that is not distracted, perform our duties for the country and fulfill our responsibilities for the people, and jointly continue to write a new chapter in the cause of multi-party cooperation.
