On the morning of October 28, the Deyang Intermediate People's Court held a public trial in the first instance to hear the case of Wang Ting, former deputy director and vice chairman of the Sichuan Rural Credit Cooperative Union, for accepting bribes, and pronounced a verdict in court: Defendant Wang Ting committed the crime of accepting bribes and was sentenced to 11 years and 6 months in prison and fined 1.5 million yuan.

The court found that between 2003 and 2020, defendant Wang Ting took advantage of his positions as president of the Ya'an Downtown Branch of the Chinese Bank, director of the Ya'an Supervision Branch of the China Banking Regulatory Commission, deputy director and vice chairman of the Sichuan Rural Credit Cooperative Union, etc., to provide assistance to others and their affiliated enterprises in coordinating loans, job transfers, job adjustments, equity purchases, and contracting business, and successively accepted property sent by 16 people, including Luo X. Equivalent to a total of more than 16.9838 million yuan (of which 10 million yuan was unsuccessful).
During the trial, the collegial panel organized the prosecution and defense to fully present evidence, cross-examine evidence, and debate in court around the focus of the dispute in the case, and verified the disputed facts one by one. Defendant Wang Ting pleaded guilty and accepted the sentence in court and did not appeal.

In order to further crack down on job-related crimes in the financial system, take cases as a lesson, and enhance the awareness of state functionaries in honesty in performing official duties and their ability to resist corruption and guard against degeneration, the relevant departments of the Sichuan Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection, the Sichuan Provincial Higher People's Court, and the Sichuan Provincial Procuratorate are exploring the work of organizing relevant units to observe the trial of cases of crimes abusing public office, and to promote reform, construction, and governance through cases. The relevant departments of the Sichuan Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision organized a total of more than 700 people from financial institutions such as the provincial rural credit system and Sichuan Financial Holding Group Co., Ltd., Sichuan Bank, Sichuan Industrial Revitalization and Development Investment Fund Co., Ltd., and Guobao Life Insurance Co., Ltd. to observe the trial synchronously through video at the scene of the Deyang Intermediate People's Court and 20 intermediate people's courts in the province, receive warning education at zero distance, interpret the law by case, use cases to clarify discipline, and use people around them. Practitioners in related industries of education take the case as a lesson, perform their duties in accordance with the law and compliance, and achieve the effect of investigating and handling a case and educating one piece.
