On August 5, a road in the Qilihe district of Lanzhou, Gansu Province, suddenly collapsed, and a concrete truck fell into a pit. After the incident, the staff of the local fire, public security, municipal and other relevant departments arrived at the scene and successfully rescued the driver in the car. The Jimu News reporter learned that after investigation, the initial cause of the collapse was the rupture of the underground water pipe, and the specific cause is still under investigation.

Multiple videos taken by netizens show that after the ground collapsed outside the door of a small area, a deep pit was created, a concrete car fell into the pit, and the water discharged from some pipes in the pit was about to flood the roof, and the driver stood on the roof of the car waiting for rescue. The Jimu news reporter noticed that the big pit almost cut off the road, and multiple cracks were created in the road around the collapsed area.
The road section of the incident is located outside the gate of the motor factory community on Gongjiaping North Road in Qilihe District. Mr. Liang, a nearby merchant, said that on the morning of the 5th, the road surface here suddenly collapsed, and the concrete truck passing by here fell into the pit. Due to the large height difference between the roof and the road surface, the driver can only stand on the roof of the car after climbing out of the cockpit and waiting for rescue. After that, the fire, public security, road administration and other departments came to rescue the driver trapped in the pit, and there was no major problem for the time being.
On the 5th, the publicity department of Lanzhou Qilihe reported that at 7 a.m. on the same day, the road surface near the family hospital of the Gongjiaping North Road Motor Factory collapsed, causing a commercial concrete vehicle to fall into the pit. The pit is about 10 meters long, about 5 meters wide, and the depth of the pit is about 10 meters. At 7:20 a.m., the driver was rescued and sent to the hospital for examination, and he was not injured at the moment. After the incident, the local municipal, fire, traffic police and other departments set up fences near the collapsed ground area, pulled up a cordon and implemented traffic control.
