Recently, at the Nixon Presidential Library in California, US Secretary of State Pompeo delivered an elaborate anti-China speech. He talked a lot about ideological struggle, portrayed China as the enemy of the world, and tried to provoke a "new Cold War" against China.

Pompeo was on a road of lying and cheating, and this speech showed that he had reached a "new peak". The coronavirus has killed more than 150,000 people in the United States. Freud's cry of "I can't breathe" still echoes over the United States. Hundreds of thousands of poor Americans are wandering the streets. Trump and Pompeo should be committed to strengthening international cooperation to address U.S. challenges to economic development, health, and global issues. However, they have done the exact opposite.

For some time, Trump, Pompeo and others have launched a series of containment and suppression actions against China. They have called the new crown virus the "Chinese virus" on many occasions, used state forces to frantically encircle Chinese companies such as Huawei, wantonly undermined China's sovereignty on the Hong Kong and Taiwan issues, and suddenly demanded that the Chinese side close the Consulate General in Houston. Pompeo claims to uphold democracy and freedom, but in fact his purpose is to maintain the hegemonic status of the United States, serve the interest groups behind him, and realize his personal political ambitions. His dangerous approach will not only bury the achievements of cooperation accumulated by the Chinese and American peoples for many years, but also damage the future development of the United States itself and endanger the stability and prosperity of the world. Trump and Pompeo blame other countries for the disasters caused to American society and people due to their own policy mistakes, and cannot solve the problems facing the United States itself. They must stop obstructing and undermining normal Sino-US exchanges and cooperation.

Chinese people pursue a prosperous life, a rich country and a world peace. The chinese government's task and goal is to meet the needs of all Chinese people. China does not export models, two do not export systems, and three do not export ideology. The current US China policy is based on a strategic misjudgment that lacks factual basis, and is full of emotional catharsis and McCarthy-style paranoia. Trump and Pompeo turned history backwards, which is unpopular.

According to a survey by Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, the Chinese government, led by the Chinese Communist Party, enjoys more than 93 percent support and satisfaction among Chinese. Edelman, a well-known public relations company in the United States, recently released a trust survey showing that the Chinese people's trust in their own governments is as high as 95%, ranking first among the countries surveyed. The U.S. government has only 48 percent public trust, ranking second from the bottom.

President Xi Jinping has clearly pointed out that we have a thousand reasons to do a good job in Sino-US relations, and none of them have a reason to make Sino-US relations bad. This year marks nearly half a century since President Nixon's visit to China. The course of development of Sino-US relations shows that only by treating each other as equals and respecting each other can Sino-US relations develop steadily and healthily. China has no intention of changing the United States, and the United States cannot change China. We are willing to develop Sino-US relations with the US side based on coordination, cooperation and stability, but we will not accept any bullying and injustice. Pompeo is counting on coercing China through pressure, and he is daydreaming.

Richard Haas, president of the American Institute of Foreign Affairs, published an article in the Washington Post criticizing pompeo's speech, accusing him of knowing nothing about China, Nixon, and U.S. foreign policy. It is clear that the real enemy of the United States is the United States itself, especially people like Pompeo who have lost their minds, not China. I believe that all countries in the world will say no to the "new Cold War".
