Stage sisters, not just sisters

I remember once going to the art salon of Teacher Fang Yafen of Shanghai Yue Theatre to share two or three things about her artistic career. One of the sentences she said made a particular impression on me, which roughly means: the Shengdan actors on the stage of Yue opera cooperate with each other more tacitly than between husband and wife.

Stage sisters, not just sisters

Excerpt from the Yue opera "The Man with the Broken Intestine": Fang Yafen as Fang Xueying

This is not difficult to understand. As an art of women on stage, the stage of Yue opera is mainly supported by women. Offstage is a sister flower, on the stage is a mandarin duck bird; offstage is a pair of female red makeup, but on the stage is a humble gentleman and a beautiful person.

On the stage, the other party has a look, you know the emotions of the other party's character; the other party takes a step, you understand how to go down the beginning and end of the plot; the other party sings a sentence, you know what kind of state you want to use to catch the other party's play.

Such a "transformation", if it is not the knowledge of getting along day and night, you have a sharp mind and a sense of true feeling of wholehearted devotion, I am afraid that it is difficult to interpret so many sorrows and joys on the stage naturally and vividly.

When I watched the Yue opera "Stage Sisters", I felt that the stage sisterly relationship like Zhu Chunhua and Xing Yuehong in the play was different from the sisters in blood, and it was not the same as the girlfriends in life.

Stage sisters, not just sisters

Chunhua and Yuehong have also had discord. Chunhua is still immersed in learning art in Shanghai's Shili Yangchang Fugui Township. Yuehong was once fascinated by the world of flowers and flowers in Shanghai, leaving the stage to marry the manager of the theater, Tang, and also leaving the partner who had worked with Chunhua for many years.

But in the end, the sisters reconciled and held hands on the stage again.

Because Chunhua understands that Yuehong will not easily abandon the many years of sisterhood on and offstage.

Because Yuehong figured it out more, she couldn't let go of her attachment to the stage after all.

Although, the stage sisters of that era had to endure more bitter hardships than today.

Just like Chunhua and Yuehong, one who would rather study drama than be a child bride, one was born in a drama class, and since he was a child, he has seen the world's contempt and contempt for the profession of "drama".

However, whether it is hard to learn opera or the low status of artists in the old days, they cannot stop the birth of a pair of stage sisters in the history of the development of Yue opera in the past century.

Unlike blood sisters, they may grow up and fly apart. Unlike the girlfriends in life, if the resonance of the piano sound on the heartstrings is lacking, it will eventually drift away.

Just because it is the stage and art, even if they are separated by thousands of miles, they are still heart-to-heart. When the scenery is beautiful, share the flowers and applause dedicated to the stage. When suffering, they do not let go of each other's hands.

Stage sisters, in the end, are not simple sisters, but real lovers.

There are lovers in the play, and there are feelings for outsiders in the play.
