Parent-Child Reading: David S. Copperfield

Of the four Dickens books I read, this one is the most shadow of the author himself. It is said that childhood is the happiest time in life, while many people's childhood is full of suffering.

The protagonist David died when he was still a fetus in his mother's womb, and although his mother and domestic servants loved him, they had a fierce stepfather, who was forced to drop out of school when his mother died when he was ten years old, and was sent by his stepfather to London as a child laborer to earn a living for himself.

If there is no hope in a child's eyes, the world is like the end of the world. Fortunately, there is still love and warmth in the world, and in the end, David still tasted home again in his father's aunt's house, and he and the servant family also formed a lifelong friendship and cared for each other.

In life, there are ups and downs, there are darkness and light, and Dickens tells the reader about the world through David.

The impulsive girl in the book, Emily, eloped with someone before marriage and nearly died. Impulse is the devil, and my daughter and I say that major decisions must be postponed and made again, and we must also discuss with our loved ones before making them.

Finally, we talk about the bad guy in the book, Shepp, who is sinister and cunning, and who takes control of Anis's father's law firm with despicable means.

As a mother, I am most worried about the safety of my children, and I hope that they will be safe in their lives, whether they are rich or poor.

But there are evil people in the world, like this Ship in the book, and their evil will not be written on their faces.
