Chinese scholars have always been polyhedrons, a family of literature, history and philosophy, and they have sought to be broad and profound in their studies. Classic masterpieces also often have multiple values, such as Confucius's Analects, which are both literary and ideological. Another example is Sima Qian's "Records of History", which is both a masterpiece of historiography and a literary classic, for which Lu Xun has a well-deserved evaluation: "The historian's absolute singing, the rhymeless departure." "Modern scholarship and education tend to be refined and specialized, but they are lost in "Bo" and "Tong". Modern society increasingly needs "generalists" and calls for "general education". The curriculum of our junior high school, the original "Physics", "Chemistry", "Biology", "Geography" and many other disciplines into "Science", the college entrance examination set up "Literature Synthesis" and "Science Synthesis", are based on such background and position consideration. To this end, we must fully understand the significance and value of comprehensive language learning, spontaneously and proactively carry out comprehensive learning activities, and lay the foundation for future efforts to become "generalists" and "experts".
The most difficult thing to carry out comprehensive learning is the development and utilization of resources, how to effectively use various resources?
First, create "new" school-based resources
The American educator Dewey once said that "school is a small society" and that a campus is a resource library for learning. There are many things worth discovering and exploring in the "school" society: every flower and tree, every teacher and classmate, every class, every corner... Take the four seasons, in the spring, we watch the grass sprout, experience the first breath of spring of "grass color is close but not there"; in the summer, we go to the lotus pond to feel the fun of "the little lotus only shows its sharp horns, and there are dragonflies standing on the head"; in autumn, we go to pick the fallen leaves, puzzle the pictures in the heart, and feel the scenery of "frost leaves red in February flowers"; in winter, we can build snowmen together, play snowballs, and appreciate plum blossoms, and appreciate the artistic conception of "plum blossom fragrance from bitter cold". The various activities carried out by the school, especially large-scale comprehensive activities such as sports meetings, campus culture and art festivals, etc., are the best resources for our language learning, writing reports, painting posters, making slogans, composing poems, writing after-feelings, etc., so that our youth blooms like a flower!
Second, engage in "hot" local resources
Nostalgia, we will never forget, "Who doesn't say that our hometown is good?" "But did you really understand the local culture when you were born and raised in Sichuan?" Take my hometown, Pujiang, known as the "hometown of calligraphy and painting" and "the state of culture", for example, the county has been famous for generations, the culture of calligraphy and painting has a long history, and folk art is rich and colorful. Pujiang folk customs are: there are smoke and there are assorted classes, Pujiang chaotic bomb play garden, ancient Yi ceremonial display majestic, crystal glass shines, bamboo and wood root carving shows the wind, five golden flowers in the world, skillful paper-cutting leads the way, welcome China is amazing, Pujiang lights are gorgeous.
In the language practice class, I let the children choose their own themes, freely combine, investigate and research, and exchange summaries. The investigation reports formed by the children after the holiday practice activities include "Huyuan River Water Pollution Survey", "Shangshan Ruins - Civilization on the Banks of the Puyang River, The Glory of 10,000 Years Ago", "Pujiang Folk Customs Special Topic" and so on. The small papers formed after research-based study, "Buyue Yinquan Practice Confucianism - Research on the Moon Spring Yin Society" and "The Virtue-ruling Heritage of the First Family in Jiangnan" won the first prize and the second prize of jinhua small paper competition, respectively. The children initially tasted the sweetness of inquiry-based learning, perceived in practice, and lyrically created - the more local, the more vital. Local complexes naturally take root and sprout in the heart.
Third, stimulate the "living" of current affairs resources
The new curriculum standard states: "Important events at home and abroad and locally, as well as topics of daily life, can also be used as resources for language courses." "Current affairs resources are rich and vivid, and their content includes fixed festivals and daily domestic and foreign news. We must make full use of this resource, remember the "tradition" at the same time, "keep pace with the times". Important festivals, which are connected to the spiritual activities and practical activities unique to human beings with distinctive personality characteristics, contain valuable humanistic resources and material resources, and are one of the most humanistic curriculum resources. There are many festivals in China, such as Lantern Festival, Qingming Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Chongyang Festival, National Day, Children's Day and so on. These festivals have precipitated the cultural and humanistic spirit of our nation and are an important part of our real life. We can make full use of these resources to engage in practical activities, write holiday essays, etc.
Domestic and foreign news hotspots are living teaching materials, and students discuss and even debate a certain issue. For example, in terms of politics: the international ones include the "Iranian nuclear issue", "Syrian civil war", "European debt crisis", "South China Sea issue", domestic "gutter oil", "school bus", "Ark and Han Han's pen war", "Democracy is suitable for China?" etc. Keywords in sports include "Li Najie", "Flyer Liu Xiang", "Yao Ming", "Chinese Men's Football Team" and so on. These can be from the perspective of language learning to do some exploration and communication, I believe you will have new gains. We all have a pair of eyes, timely and keen to discover and use these current affairs resources, then it is difficult for us to learn languages without progress.
In short, we must fully develop and utilize various resources to effectively carry out comprehensive learning activities, because "the extension of language learning is equal to the extension of life", and it is always spring!
