The Tao Te Ching has a cloud: "Less is more, and more is confusing." Large instrument Man (slow) into. ”
Less and more, slow and fast, are dialectical relations.
The more anxious you are to do something, the worse it is. The more you want to get it, the more you may not get it.
As the saying goes: "If you want to be fast, you can't reach it." ”
1
Slow: Down-to-earth
As the saying goes, "Sharpen the knife without cutting wood", opportunity always favors those who are prepared.
The experience of Su Qin during the Warring States period can be called the portrayal of this sentence.
The first time I went out of the mountains, I sold all my family property, but I ran into walls everywhere and returned home.
At that time, Su Qin: He did not have enough understanding of the situation of the nations, and could not poke at the pain points of the princes; he lacked the skills of lobbying, and he could not accurately speak with people and touch people's hearts.
Too anxious, failure is inevitable: fast, is slow.
The second time out of the mountain, to achieve the long-cherished wish: Su Qin was fully responsible for the six countries to jointly resist Qin, becoming the only diplomat in history who was in the position of the six countries.
At this time, Su Qin: After more than a year of head overhanging beams and cone thorns, he carefully studied various military books and carefully pondered the current affairs of the nations.
Slow down, success is inevitable: slow, is fast.
Heard a little story.
A little Daoist boy asked, "Master, how long will it take for me to become enlightened?" Master replied, "Ten years is enough." Xiao Daotong asked again, "What if I redouble my asceticism?" The master said, "It will take twenty years." ”
Xiao Daotong was very confused and asked, "What if I work day and night without sleep?" Master said, "Then you will never have the day of enlightenment." ”
Xiao Daotong was stunned, and Master said slowly, "Everything is too exhausted, and fate is bound to end early." ”
This dialogue, carefully pondered, is really wonderful: life has a degree, and if you live, you will be a disaster.
Many of the pressures in life are to find trouble for themselves; many of the pains in life are not possible with themselves and themselves.
If you use too much force, it is easy to exceed the scope of ability, talent and wisdom. Life is a marathon, really don't have to be too anxious, you don't have to work too hard.

Boiling: Wait for the flowers to bloom
In the Art of War of Sun Tzu, it is said: "First of all, it is invincible, so that the enemy can be victorious." ”
In everything you do, you must first ensure your own safety, and then wait patiently for the opportunity to hit it.
Sima Yi of the Three Kingdoms period perfectly practiced this art of war, and its secret was one word: boiling!
Let's start with foreign wars.
The Battle of Halo was Sima Yi's first and only head-on confrontation with Zhuge Liang, which ended in a crushing defeat. Since then, in the face of Zhuge Liang, Sima Yi has never been able to hold out.
Even if the strength of the Shu army far exceeded that of the Shu army, even if the Shu army shouted insults outside the camp, even if Zhuge Liang sent women's clothes to humiliate him, he just smiled, just stayed up, and survived Zhuge Liang.
Let's talk about being an official inside.
He walked on thin ice until Cao Cao died, and conscientiously survived the two generations of emperors Cao Pi and Cao Rui. When Cao Fang came to power, he finally stopped being patient and easily seized Cao Wei's real power.
This is exactly what it is: life is 70 years old, and it is a sword sharpened in ten years!
There are many sentient beings, some people live in tall buildings, some people are in the abyss; some people are full of light, some people are covered in rust.
A few more struggles, more frustrations, how many people have long forgotten their dreams; but the dreams that can survive are never closed.
Liu Bang did not have a single soldier at the age of 40, but he did not give up and survived the Han Dynasty; Jiang Ziya was nearly 80 years old before he left Weishui and came out of the mountains, and he did not give up, and survived the hegemony of the King of Wu!
Boiling, it seems to be very bitter, very embarrassing, but in fact, it is to recharge and accumulate energy; sink your heart, endure loneliness, and laugh to the end.
Chu Shijian, the founder of Chu Orange, said in an interview before his death: "In recent years, many young people in their 20s have come to me and asked me, 'Why can't I always do anything'. I said that you want to be simple, always want to find ready-made, find luck, rely on the tree, not so simple things. ”
Finally, Elder Chu said a particularly classic sentence: "I am more than 80 years old, still crawling and rolling, what are you anxious about?" ”
Many things in life are not a straight line.
If you are in a hurry, you will not be able to do it; if you stay still, there will be willows and flowers. Fast is slow, slow is fast.

Shou: Long-termism
The Tao Te Ching says, "The difficult things under the world will be done easily, and the great things under the world will be done in detail." ”
If you want to do a difficult thing, start with the simplest; if you want to do a big thing, do every detail.
Zeng Guofan of the late Qing Dynasty, when he entered Beijing as an official, was determined to become a sage.
The first step in the pursuit of the sages was self-cultivation, and he set himself 12 daily lessons. Including getting up early, meditating, reading history, practicing words, etc., no matter whether it is cold or hot, insist on it every day.
Here's a special mention of journaling.
Zeng Guofan's diary is not long. It's basically a record of everyday life, what you did, what you ate, what you said, and even what dreams you had at night. After writing it down, I began to reflect on it, not only to see it myself, but sometimes to show it to others.
30 years as a day, simple things are repeated, repetitive things are done with heart, and things with heart are insisted on.
It is precisely with the attitude of doing small things and making details to the extreme that Zeng Guofan can change from a person who is not talented enough to become what posterity evaluates: Lide makes meritorious contributions and makes three immortals, and the teacher will be a perfect person.
Lao Tzu said: "The big instrument is late, the big sound is loud, and the elephant is invisible." ”
But whoever achieves great things is a long-termist.
The first meaning of long-termism is persistence. Many people can understand this, but in reality, many people can't stick to it.
Because the second meaning of long-termism is to believe. When you can't hold on, it's not that you really can't do it, it's that you don't see it, you don't believe it.
In the "Vegetable Root Tan", it is said: "For the good does not see its benefit, just as the winter melon in the grass should grow from the dark." ”
A person who does good deeds does not appear to be immediately rewarded. But this is like a winter melon growing under the tall and dense grass, although you can't see it, it keeps growing upwards, and one day it will surprise you.
This is long-termism, finding certainty in an uncertain world. Only by believing and persevering can we see.
Flowing water does not compete for the first, but for the gushing river water.
Long-termism is valuable in persistence, and the more you go, the less lonely you are; long-termism is valuable in believing, and the more you go, the more stable you go.
"Zhou Yi" has clouds: "When the water is full, it overflows, and when the moon is full, it loses." ”
All things, the prosperity of the pole is the decline, that is, the extreme of things will be reversed, and the desire for speed will not be achieved.
Life that is too hard, running is not far.
Behind all the open and hung lives is the persistence of thick accumulation.
Take it slowly, everything is relaxed, and the worst result of life is just a big instrument!
