The enthusiastic villager caught the strange bird and sent it to the health team of the troops stationed on the island, where he asked the military doctor to treat it. After examination by the military doctor, it was confirmed that the bird's left wing was injured and a fracture was suspected. Treatment conditions on the island were limited, and the military doctors had no experience in treating birds, so they had to call 110 for help.
Not long after, the police of the Liugong Island Border Police Station rushed to the scene, and the police contacted the staff of the Liugong Island Forest Farm to identify it, and finally confirmed its identity, which turned out to be a national second-level protected animal - sparrowhawk.
Subsequently, the police contacted the Weihai Terrestrial Wildlife Shelter and Rescue Center, took the sparrowhawk out of the island by boat, and handed over to the animal shelter and rescue personnel on the shore for further treatment.
