On October 26, Guiyang City and Samui City in Ukraine held a video conference to exchange experience in the economic and social development of the two cities and sign a letter of intent to establish a sister city. At the video conference, Ma Ningyu greeted the people of Guimei City on behalf of the Guiyang Municipal People's Government and the people of Guiyang, thanked the friends who had made efforts to promote the establishment of a sister city between Guiyang City and Samui City, and introduced the economic and social development of Guiyang City. He said that Guiyang City is a modern city with convenient transportation, rich resources and beautiful ecology. In recent years, we have fully implemented the development concept of innovation, coordination, green, openness and sharing, with strong economic development momentum, unique ecological environment, obvious advantages in transportation location, leading the digital economy, deepening opening up to the outside world, and achieving great strides in economic and social development. At present, Guiyang Adheres to the theme of high-quality development, takes "strong provincial capital" as the main starting point, takes new industrialization as the main attack point, takes the digital economy and green economy as the main path, achieves ecological city, strong industrial city, digital living city, and talent rejuvenation city, and accelerates the construction of a provincial capital city with a higher degree, a central city with greater influence, a functional city with stronger ecology, and a city with a better sense of happiness. Samui is a beautiful, prosperous and vibrant city, we cherish and attach great importance to exchanges and cooperation with Samui City, and hope to take the signing of the letter of intent to establish a sister city as an opportunity to strengthen communication and exchanges, broaden the scope of cooperation, and continue to deepen pragmatic cooperation in trade, industry, education, ecology and other aspects to better benefit the people of the two places.
Oliksand Leshenko gave a brief briefing on the development of Samui city and conveyed the respect and gratitude of the Samui City Council, the Executive Committee and the people to Guiyang City. He said that Samui City, as an industrial city, has trade relations with many countries, and China is one of the three countries with the largest import of goods in Samui City, and attracting urban economic investment in the future is the priority development strategy direction. At present, Samui City is vigorously promoting the construction of the "Samui" Industrial Park, increasing policy optimization, actively attracting investment from all parties, and focusing on improving the infrastructure of the industrial park. It is hoped that the two sides will open up new directions for international cooperation and development, and strive to build a successful, fruitful, mutually beneficial and win-win partnership to better achieve common development.
It is reported that The city of Samui is located on the banks of the Pushhor River in northern Ukraine, is the capital of Samui Oblast, covers an area of about 356 square kilometers, and has a population of about 270,000. The two sides will jointly promote friendly exchanges between the people and carry out friendly cooperation in the fields of urban management, economy and trade, investment, medicine and humanities.
