Spotted owls are small owl with a body length of 20–26 cm, the largest of the emu, with inconspicuous face plates and no ear feather clusters. It mainly inhabits broad-leaved forests, mixed forests, secondary forests and forest margin shrubs in the middle mountains from plains and low hills to about 2000 meters above sea level, and is mostly active and foraging during the day, and can catch small birds and large insects in the air like eagles.
