She told Jimu News that on September 30, she attended the award ceremony of the Chinese government's Friendship Award in Beijing. 100 foreign experts from 32 countries, including her, won the 2020 and 2021 Chinese Government Friendship Awards. Premier Li Keqiang met with award-winning foreign experts at the Great Hall of the People. Since then, she has also been invited to a state banquet and received cordially from the country's top leaders.
It is reported that the Chinese Government Friendship Award is the highest honorary award for commending foreign experts who have made outstanding contributions to China's modernization drive, and 1,799 foreign experts have been awarded since its establishment in 1991.
Sara Platto told reporters that until now she could not believe that she could receive this honor, and has been in a mood of excitement and repeated questioning and affirmation for the past few days. During her days in Beijing, she met the same outstanding people who won this award as she did, and learned a lot from the excellent people.
She said she will continue to work on people and the environment. Recently, she was planning a project that harnessed developed resources for the benefit of humanity, perhaps with unintended economic and social benefits in related areas, and is currently in the initial stages of raising funds.
