It's not unusual for identical twins to look exactly the same, but two people who are not related by blood and are complete strangers have the same face, which is simply more amazing than science fiction movies
But in reality, there is such a magical thing happening.
Sara, 21, accidentally saw shannon, a sister who looked like her, on a foreign website one day.
Sara immediately bought a plane ticket to see Shannon in Ireland, and the moment she saw Shannon, she thought she was looking in the mirror.
Sister Shannon was also surprised, but the more mysterious thing was that Sara later found a sister Who was exactly like herself, Luisa.
That said, Sara eventually found two girls who looked exactly like her.
The three people not only look exactly the same, but even the hairstyle, hair color, appearance, and figure are all the same, and this degree of similarity cannot even be achieved by the sister and her own sister.
Niamh Geaney's sister unfortunately doesn't look like her
Like Sara, Shannon and Luisa, there are many people who are not related by blood, but look very similar, and there is a website abroad dedicated to sharing these wonderful moments of "bumping faces":
Some of them were accidentally encountered on a plane.
Some are discovered by others shouting the wrong name.
There are also some people who have been found through the Twin Strangers website.
Why do they look exactly the same when they are not related by blood?
The issue caught the attention of British television, and to study the phenomenon, the UK recruited 7 pairs of people who thought they looked alike and made a documentary called Finding My Twin Stranger.
But what surprised the program team more than they looked like was that their hobbies, personalities, three views and even life trajectories were very similar.
This is Puck from the UK and Cherry from the Netherlands, and both of their favorite foods are pasta.
This is Kobi from Israel and Rob from the United States, both of whom are professional stand-up comedians.
It's David from Glasgow, England, and Darren from Poland, both of whom run the overnight shop.
This is Billy Wright, Dorset, England, and Billy Wright, Pennsylvania, USA, and they not only look alike, but they also have exactly the same name.
To distinguish them first, they are called English Billy and American Billy. Billy is 24 years old, married, and has 3 children, while Billy is single.
Their acquaintance came from a misunderstanding, one day the sister of Billy's wife wanted to add Billy on Facebook, and after adding Billy, clicked on it and found that there were many face photos of women on his Facebook.

Then she angrily told Billy's wife, who ran to question Billy, only to find out that billy was not Beautiful Billy, but Ying Billy.
Mei Billy "whitewashed" herself, and added English Billy by the way.
The two chatted and chatted and sparked friendship, and then they became very good friends.
This is the sister Shannon and Sara, both of whom look like each other and are invincible and cheerful.
This is Fiorella from London and Ambrosia, Missouri, USA.
Both have an extremely similar tattoo, both love to swim, and both have a 2-year-old daughter, so much so that after the two met, Ambrosia's two-year-old daughter even mistook Fiorella for her mother.
This is Neil and John.
After retiring, 70-year-old Neil moved to live with his daughter in Braintree, Essex County, where no one supposedly knew him, and as soon as he left, passers-by greeted him.
At first he thought it was the simplicity of the people, but then he found that people always shouted a name: John.
Who is John? He was curious, but instead of going specifically to John, he got on a bus to the library six months later and met John, who was also going to the library.
Don't look at it, don't know, look at it and be shocked, it is exactly the same as yourself, and I don't blame people for admitting mistakes.
After meeting the 7 pairs of them, the program team first asked: Are you really not twins? The program team even suspected that they were twins posing as passers-by to participate in the show.
But they were all very sure that they did not have twin siblings.
Not twins, but can be so similar? Even the program team was confused, so they invited Tim Spector, a twin expert at the Twin Institute of St Thomas Hospital in the United Kingdom.
Using an image of a pair of real twins as a baseline, Tim Spector built a 2D flat image of each person, drew 154 dots on the face, and then used a computer to rate the similarity of each part of everyone's face.
This is how to find the most similar pair of 7 pairs.
Experiments have found that they resemble twins because there are some parts that are strikingly similar between each pair.
Neil and John have an eye similarity of 81%, and the similarity between the two people who are generally unrelated is about 0, and the similarity of identical twins is also 90%.
They even had a similar skin in the medial canthal folds of the two men's left and right eyes.
Their mouth similarity is even more striking, as high as 93%, and they have reached the same egg similarity.
Nose similarity is also as high as 93%, which is the highest nose similarity among these 7 pairs.
But there will also be some people whose individual parts are completely completely similar.
Like Fiorella and Ambrosia.
Their 2D images were 90% similar, with scores close to twins.
But the 3D image is completely equivalent to a passerby, and there is no similarity at all.
David and Darren have a 89% similarity in their mouths when they are not smiling.
But after laughing, the similarity drops dramatically, completely like two people.
Similarly, the similarity of Kobi and Rob's 2D photos is 68%, which is quite high.
But the similarity in 3D photos is only 39%. This is probably because the two have 66% eye similarity, so 2D looks more similar, but the nose and mouth are only 6% similar, pulling down the score of 3D similarity.
After several rounds of research, Tim Spector argues:
Most of the reasons why people feel that two people look like each other is because one part is particularly similar, even more than the similarity of identical twins.
When people focus on a particularly similar part, they overlook the dissimilarities of other parts.
For example, Sara and Shannon's nose similarity is also as high as 90%, but in fact the overall similarity is only 68%. The reason they look at least 90% similar is because their makeup and hairstyles are also similar.
The end result is that the most similar in 2D photos are Neil and John.
In terms of 3D photos, the most similar are David and Darren.
Among the crowd tests, the most similarities were between Kobi and Rob.
Of the combined scores, the most similar were Neil and John.
Curious to unlock each other's phones through face recognition?
Obviously a stranger, why is the appearance so similar?
Tim Spector was also very curious, so he did DNA testing and decided to investigate genetic variation and lineage.
The results showed that Neil and John, who were most similar, were ancestrally from the same ethnic group, and if they were divided by ethnic group, they were twins.
Colored areas are the source of DNA.
Kobi and Rob, born in different countries, one in Israel and one in the United States. But both were found to be of Italian and Greek origins, possibly from the same family during the time of Their Great-Grandfather.
That is to say, these extremely similar people really have some inexplicable blood relations.
But there are exceptions, such as David and Darren, who are completely unrelated, David is 75% of his ancestry from Eastern Europe, and Darren's 96% blood is from Ireland, which means that even if there is no trace of blood relations at all, they will be very similar in some serendipitous coincidence.
But the most amazing thing is not that people look like, but that their life trajectories are also similar.
Like David and Darren.
Both have a persistent pursuit of big names, David is the kind of guy who can't even pay the rent and buy designer shoes, and Darren once spent all his savings to buy his beloved sneakers.
David
Darren
Both love beauty and are exquisite pig boy.
Skin care products, makeup and styling are applied every morning, and there is a habit of fixing the maintenance of hair.
Both have the same tattoo, a peacock with an open screen.
But what is more coincidental is that the two people's sexual orientations are also exactly the same.
Gender male, hobby male.
(Documentary "Finding My Twin Stranger")
Another example is Neil and John.
They have attended different grades of the same school and have all become teachers after graduation.
Only then one person went on to be promoted to principal, and another became a well-respected pastor.
They were all flash marriages, their wives were in the same profession, they both raised two boys, their sons were the same age, they both wanted to be lawyers, and they both learned the same instrument: the Digiridu pipe.
They all have a similar view of money, they are all money-keepers, and they are members of the same bank.
Their biggest hobby is reading, and sitting on the couch is exactly the same.
They walk in a similar rhythm, going to bed at 10 p.m., both enjoying the same celebrity's talk show, and sitting in a chair will unconsciously hold their hands to their chests.
But to Tim Spector's surprise, not only do they look alike, their life trajectories are similar, and their souls are also similar.
Although it is 7 pairs of strangers who have never met, almost all of them are the same at first sight, there is no barrier at all, they can get along with each other in a short period of time, and they have only known each other for ten minutes.
Like Neil and John, neil began to encourage John to write poetry soon after they met, and praised John's poetry for being very unique, but John liked to write poetry, even John's wives and sons did not know.
Tim Spector, an expert who specializes in twins, said that even twins can't reach the level of Neil and John, "they are tacitly like one person." ”
In fact, it is not difficult to understand, they are equivalent to another self in the world, Neil saw John wrinkle his nose, and probably guessed what he was thinking.
And who in the world doesn't like themselves? So it makes sense to quickly become a girlfriend.
Hayao Miyazaki's "The Cat's Reward" once said:
I have always believed that there must be another self in this world, doing things that I dare not do, living the life I want to live.
The documentary Finding My Twin Stranger makes people realize that this is not a comic, this is reality.
Will there be another me in the world, living the life I imagined? Maybe there is, but it's just a vast sea of people, and we haven't met it yet.
But when you think about it, it feels very warm, it turns out that each of us is not alone.
Has the other self in the world, you, met?
