Ronald Koeman says Barcelona's future is "not in my hands"

Barcelona were already beaten 3-0 by Bayern Munich in their Group E opening earlier this month, and on Wednesday night, the La Liga giants lost portugal to Benfica by the same score.

Such dismal two defeats mean that five-time champions Barcelona have now started their worst Champions League start of all time.

In a period of financial turmoil for the club, Barca are already five points behind leaders Real Madrid in La Liga after just six games, and there is speculation about Koeman's future.

"I'm not going to argue about the level of my team. It doesn't make sense to compare this team to barcelona teams over the past few years. The 1992 Euro 1992 champion coach said after losing to Benfica.

"I can only give you my opinion of what I work at the club – I feel like my players and their attitude is supportive of me. The rest, club, I'm not sure... I can't say any more because I don't know what the club thinks. It's out of my grasp. ”

Commenting on Barcelona's performance at the Stadium of Light, he added: "The result is hard to accept and different from what we see on the pitch. ”

"Although we conceded a goal very early, we were good until the score became 2-0. We had a lot of chances to score goals but none of them were seized. ”

"The three chances they created went in and we didn't, and that's the biggest difference between the two sides."
