As: Everton Scouts recommended signing Haaland, but then-manager Ronald Koeman didn't agree

On June 5, the newspaper As reported that Everton's scouting director Steve Walsh discovered Haaland, who was still playing in the Norwegian second division at the time, in 2016 and recommended the young striker to the club, but neither Everton executive nor then manager Ronald Koeman agreed to the deal.

Steve Walsh worked at Leicester City before moving to Everton as head of scouting, helping Fox City dig up kanter, Mahrez, and Vardy. He moved to Everton in 2016 and worked with then-manager Ronald Koeman.

Steve Walsh had noticed Haaland, who was still playing in Norway, and recommended the young striker to Everton, but neither Everton nor Ronald Koeman approved the deal.

A year later, Haaland joined Norwegian giants Molde and, after training at Red Bull Salzburg, moved to the current Dortmund, becoming the hottest new star in football today.
