Kuang Heng, who chiseled the wall to borrow light, became a minister with difficulty, and then was impeached and wronged

author:Chopin's classroom

Kuang Heng was a chancellor during the Han and Yuan Dynasties, but his most famous thing was to chisel the wall to borrow light. Kuang Heng's family was very poor when he was a child, so he chiseled a wall to borrow the lights of his next-door neighbor's house to study, and after hard work, he finally passed the official position and entered the career.

His career had a smooth journey, and he was very appreciated by Emperor Yuan of Han, and finally became a minister, but when he arrived at Emperor Cheng of Han, he was deposed from his official position. Why would a person who is so capable of learning end up being deposed? There are two reasons for this.

Kuang Heng, who chiseled the wall to borrow light, became a minister with difficulty, and then was impeached and wronged

1. The style of the official

Kuang Heng's official style is soft, and he is not a minister who dares to speak out. When he consulted the Han Yuan Emperor, he always quoted the Book of Poetry to explain the reasoning, and he promoted the Confucian style of courtesy, so his style actually offended some ministers and was impeached.

Why? Because Emperor Yuan of Han reused the eunuch Shi Xian, which led to Shi Xian's dictatorship and chaos, Kuang Heng failed to advise Emperor Yuan of Han in time, nor did he take effective measures to curb the eunuch's dictatorship.

Because Emperor Yuan of Han favored Shi Xian, Kuang Heng did not directly impeach Shi Xian, but waited until Emperor Hancheng ascended the throne before impeaching Shi Xian. In this way, Wang Zun was not satisfied, and he thought that Kuang Heng and Shi Xian were in the same group, so he impeached Kuang Heng to punish Kuang Heng.

However, Emperor Hancheng, seeing that Kuang Heng was an old minister, gave Kuang Heng face, and instead of punishing Kuang Heng, he degraded Wang Zun out of the imperial court.

Although Emperor Hancheng handled it in this way and quelled the impeachment incident, contradictions arose between Kuang Heng and his ministers, which also shook the foundation of Kuang Heng's position as an official.

2. The courtiers were dissatisfied with Kuang Heng

Although Shi Xian's incident was over, the courtiers believed that Wang Zun had been wronged by punishment, so they all resented Kuang Heng. Because Kuang Heng was heavily valued by Emperor Hancheng, Kuang Heng remained a chancellor after Emperor Hancheng ascended the throne.

This made the ministers very dissatisfied, so some people again impeached Kuang Heng for illegally expanding the fiefdom, which was found to be true. So Emperor Hancheng deposed Kuang Heng from his official position and demoted him to a commoner.

In fact, this incident was not deliberately done by Kuang Heng, but caused by the wrong indication of the map of his fiefdom. However, the contradiction between Kuang Heng and other ministers was very deep, and no one came out to defend him, so in the end Kuang Heng had to tell the old man to return to his hometown.

"Kuang Heng was degraded" is very wronged, and it can also be said that it is not wronged. First of all, Shi Xian was heavily valued by the Han Yuan Emperor, so Kuang Heng knew that the impeachment of Shi Xian would not succeed, and he would even be persecuted by Shi Xian, so Kuang Heng acquiesced to Shi Xian's dictatorship.

However, after Emperor Hancheng ascended the throne, Kuang Heng impeached Shi Xian, and the impeachment was successful. From this point of view, Kuang Heng is wise, and he knows when to do anything successfully.

Secondly, Emperor Yuan of Han wanted to protect Kuang heng, but because of this, it was not necessary to depose Wang Zun. The practices of several generations of emperors in the Han Dynasty also created the illusion that Kuang Heng was favored by the courtiers, making Kuang Heng the target of public criticism.

In the end, Kuang Heng lacked communication with other ministers, so that the misunderstanding became deeper and deeper. If Kuang Heng communicated with others in time afterwards, or interceded for Wang Zun when Wang Zun was degraded, perhaps things would not reach the final step. Therefore, Kuang Heng's impeachment also has his own problems.

It can be seen that we are misunderstood by one person, it may be misunderstood by others, and if we are misunderstood by most people, then we must have some inappropriate behavior. After all, the rebellion of the masses was not formed overnight.

When we are wronged by everyone, we should find more reasons from ourselves and correct our words and deeds in time in order to be invincible.
