"Guizhou culture is in Qianbei, and Qianbei culture is on the beach", beach culture is a miracle in the history of Guizhou cultural development. In order to gain an in-depth understanding of beach culture, the reporter walked into the former residence of Li Shuchang, a provincial key cultural relics protection unit and a patriotic education base in Guizhou Province.
The beach is located in Xinzhouyumen, Zunyi County, 38.5 kilometers east along National Highway 326 from Zunyi. The climate here is mild and suitable for farming. The Le'an River flows through the village, and there is a sandbar about half a mile long in the river, named "Qinzhou", from which the beach is named. It is such a small mountain village, but it has given birth to a large number of late Qing dynasty cultural celebrities represented by Zheng Zhen, Mo Youzhi and Li Shuchang, who advocate "fishing tree cultivation and reading", and their academic achievements have a far-reaching impact.

Beach culture refers to the fact that in the more than 100 years after the Qianlong Dynasty of the Qing Dynasty, the three families of Li, Zheng and Mo, who were mainly li in Zunyi Beach (now Beach Village, Xinzhou Town), attached importance to education and wrote about Hongfu, which became a well-known cultural area in the country in the middle of the Qing Dynasty. In the more than 100 years since the late Qing Dynasty, dozens of literati and scholars, two diplomats, and a large number of accomplished officials have emerged here. Scholars' research fields are extremely extensive, including classics, philology, phonology, epigraphy, edition bibliography, time science, geography, agriculture, medicine, as well as poetry, articles, calligraphy, paintings, etc., which can be described as a grand view, a vast sea of smoke, not only a miracle in the history of Guizhou's cultural development, but also rare in the history of national cultural development; many of these works were in a leading position at that time, gradually circulating throughout the country, and then flowing to the east and west, which has attracted the attention of international scholars so far.
Li Shuchang's former residence, also known as "Qin Envoy Di", is hidden between green mountains and green waters, and the periphery of the residence is a green brick and white wall, which has long been mottled by the erosion of wind and rain for a hundred years. The former residence was built in the Qing Dynasty, consisting of a gate tower, a hall, a middle hall, a main hall, a box room, a study room and other buildings, sitting north and facing south. Covers an area of 2914 square meters, construction area of 1335 square meters, for the typical Qianbei residential architectural style, wooden structure elevated tile houses, the first floor and one bottom, triple patio, three courtyards. The statues of Zheng Zhen, Mo Youzhi and Li Shuchang in the hall house look a little rough but sacred and solemn.

In the former residence of Li Shuchang, there is also a well-known attraction is the Humble Garden. In 1885, Li Shuchang returned to his hometown to guard filial piety and began to build the "Humble Garden", which at that time contained more than 100,000 volumes of books, which was a place for reading and studying and recreation. The cultural sites of the Zheng, Mo and Li families' houses, ancestral tombs, and activities are also scattered around here, and the beach culture that flourished in the late Qing Dynasty for a hundred years was formed here.
