The Eastern White Stork is a large wader of the Stork family, mainly inhabiting the Russian Far East and northeast China. Due to habitat destruction, the number has decreased dramatically and it is a protected animal at the national level.
It is reported that since it was first discovered in our city in 2003, the number of oriental white storks inhabiting the post has increased from one or two in that year to more than 200 today, there are nearly 70 nests on the transmission tower, and nearly 100 winters are overwintering in the post every winter.

Jieshou Town has a beautiful ecology, close to Gaoyou Lake, and has a large wetland park, where many Oriental White Storks choose to camp. It is understood that in recent years, more than 15 pairs of oriental white storks have built nests here every year to lay eggs and hatch.
