Walking into Longjing City, Yanbian Prefecture in May, the pear blossoms are like clouds, and the scrolls are light. On the morning of May 15, the 100th anniversary celebration of Yanbian apple and pear planting, one of the series of activities of the 2021 Chinese Korean Farmers' Festival, was opened in Longjing Pear Square. Nearly 10,000 tourists gathered here to enjoy the blossoming of 10,000 acres of pear blossoms, taste folk food, watch national songs and dances, and experience Korean folk customs.
Longjing is the birthplace of the Korean ethnic group in China, with the largest contiguous apple and pear orchard in Asia, known as the "hometown of apples and pears". In recent years, Longjing has focused on the development of apple pear deep processing industry, developed a series of products such as apple pear wine and apple pear vinegar, made positive attempts and efforts to continue the life cycle of apple pear industry, enrich the surrounding product groups of apple pears, and achieved very remarkable results, effectively improving the market competitiveness of apple pears, and making the beautiful scenery of "the most beautiful pear garden" more important economic value. This "Pear Blossom Festival", through the organic combination of pear blossom as the medium and the rich people, improves the brand awareness of Yanbian apple pear, creates a pear industry with pear culture, promotes the transformation and upgrading of the apple and pear industry in Longjing City, extends the pear industry chain, increases the added value of products, creates a new engine for the development of the food processing industry, and makes the pear industry a happy industry and new economy for the revitalization of Longjing Countryside.
At the opening ceremony, the leaders and guests jointly pressed the start button of the Pear Blossom Festival, accompanied by the on-site ceremonial petals fluttering with the wind, and the 100th anniversary celebration of Yanbian apple and pear planting was officially opened. At the opening ceremony, Longjing City posthumously recognized and commended the "meritorious men", apple and pear masters, and star orchards who have made outstanding contributions to the apple and pear industry.
At the wedding display site, one of the national intangible cultural heritages, the old husband and wife who are wearing wedding dresses and have reached the 60th anniversary of marriage once again put on the "wedding dress", dressed up as the bride and groom, and relived the classics and romance of 60 years ago under the blessing of the family. The Korean Hui Wedding fully demonstrated the traditional wedding etiquette of the Korean people, allowing the audience to understand and feel the Folk Culture of the Korean Ethnic Group in China at close range.
Jin Guanghao, deputy director of the Longjing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, said, "This celebration will be held from the 15th to the 16th for two days, in order to reflect the grand results of the 100th anniversary of apple and pear planting.
