Longjing in May, white pear blossoms. On May 15th, the 100th anniversary celebration of Yanbian apple and pear planting was held in Longjing Pear Blossom Folk Square. Tens of thousands of tourists from all over the world gathered here to enjoy 10,000 acres of pear blossoms, taste folk food, watch national songs and dances, and experience the strong Korean folk customs.
Li Desu, former director of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, Park Xuesu, vice governor of Yanbian Prefecture, An Mingzhi, vice chairman of the Yanbian Prefecture CPPCC Committee and secretary of the Longjing Municipal PARTY Committee, and other relevant leaders of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Institute of Pomology of the Jilin Academy of Agricultural Sciences attended the opening ceremony. Pu Rilu, member of the Standing Committee of the Longjing Municipal Party Committee and member of the Party Group of the Municipal Government, presided over the opening ceremony.
In his speech, Park Xuesu said that in recent years, the Yanbian Prefecture Party Committee and the State Government have deeply implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping's important exposition on tourism development and the "Three Five-Year Plan" strategic deployment of the Provincial Party Committee, based on resource endowments and the actual conditions of Yanbian Prefecture, determined the "Tourism Xingzhou" development strategy, fully promoted the construction of global tourism, and used it as a guide to build a pattern of integrated development of "tourism" diversified industries, effectively promoting Yanbian's economic and social development. All counties and cities, especially Longjing, which is the birthplace of The Korean ethnic group in China, have vigorously implemented the development strategy of "strong industry city and tourism city", and promoted the development of local cultural tourism undertakings and diversified industries through the integration model of "festival brand + tourism economy + industrial development", and promoted the formation of a win-win situation of mutual promotion of folk culture and economic quality. It is hoped that Longjing, with the strong support of the state government as always, will continue to do a good job in the development of folk tourism, food processing and other industries, and contribute to the comprehensive revitalization and all-round revitalization of Yanbian economy and society.

In recent years, Longjing has focused on the development of apple pear deep processing industry, developed a series of products such as apple pear wine and apple pear vinegar, made positive attempts and efforts to continue the life cycle of apple pear industry, enrich the surrounding product groups of apple pears, and achieved very remarkable results, effectively improving the market competitiveness of apple pears, and making the beautiful scenery of "the most beautiful pear garden" more important economic value. This "Pear Blossom Festival", through the organic combination of pear blossom as the medium and the rich people, improves the brand awareness of Yanbian apple pear, creates a pear industry with pear culture, promotes the transformation and upgrading of the apple and pear industry in Longjing City, extends the pear industry chain, increases the added value of products, creates a new engine for the development of the food processing industry, and makes the pear industry a happy industry and new economy for the revitalization of Longjing Countryside.
Subsequently, Park Haku-so and Ahn Myung-sik took to the stage and pulled the start button to officially launch the 100th anniversary celebration of Yanbian apple and pear planting. In an instant, the colored balls took off, fireworks bloomed, and the scene resounded with earth-shaking applause and cheers.
At the ceremony, not only the korean songs and dances with strong characteristics were performed, but also the "meritorious ministers", apple and pear masters, and star orchards who made outstanding contributions to the apple and pear industry were posthumously recognized and commended. Jin Runji, the lead singer of the former Arirang Group, came to the scene and sang 3 songs such as "Arirang" to cheer for his hometown. After the opening ceremony, tens of thousands of tourists smelled the incense and moved into the Wanmuli Garden to enjoy the flowers and feel the fun of the countryside.
At the wedding display site, one of the national intangible cultural heritages, the old husband and wife who wore wedding dresses and reached the age of 60 years of marriage once again put on the "joy dress", sat happily on the blessed and allegorical feast full of mountain treasures and seafood, various cakes and fruits, accepted the blessings and kneeling of their children and grandchildren and everyone, and the relatives and friends present sang and danced to share the happy time. Afterwards, the "bride and groom" took a flower dress ox cart to parade in the pear garden, and the atmosphere was lively and festive.
It is reported that the celebration activities lasted for two days, with a total of 5 major sections of wonderful exhibition and performance activities, such as theatrical performances (opening ceremony), ceremony activities, theme forums, "100" character series activities, and experience activities. Tourists can not only enjoy the magnificent beauty of millions of acres of pear blossoms, visit the exhibition areas such as food, folk goods, apple and pear products and achievements, feel the strong Korean farming culture, apple and pear cultivation culture, taste authentic Korean cuisine, but also observe Korean wrestling, DJ party and other activities, while strolling among the flowers, while enjoying folk customs, tasting delicacies, smelling flowers.
