In September 1937, the eighth regimental headquarters of the eighth route army carried out combat mobilization, before that, the eighth route army analyzed the war situation and the enemy situation, the eighth route army has never been a small unprepared battle, they want to take advantage of the favorable terrain of this area when the Japanese Itagaki Division attacks Pingxingguan, from the flank to punch, fight a big victory.

At this time, the commander of the 686th Regiment came up with a way to prepare to divide the Japanese brigades into several pieces and defeat them one by one, but the division tactics were very dangerous, the regimental commander of the 686th Regiment took the lead in the charge in order to boost morale, and the soldiers were greatly shocked by the morale one by one, and in an instant, the shouts of killing shook the valley, and the soldiers bravely rushed towards the road!
Wu Dagui's company was a combat company, they were placed in the outpost by the regimental commander, and under the leadership of the regimental commander, Wu Dagui and the company also jumped up closely, and everyone threw grenades into the Japanese cars.
The two Japanese cars were instantly hit and caught fire, directly blocking the way for the Japanese cars and horses to advance, and the war horses immediately roared, and the Japanese troops also jumped east and west. But the Japanese army was well trained after all, and after reacting, they used cars and ditches to stubbornly resist in spite of casualties!
At this time, the firepower of the two sides was not on a horizontal line, the firepower of the Eighth Route Army could not suppress the firepower of the Japanese army, the two sides fought fiercely in the ravine, and the casualties of the 686th Regiment at this time were also increasing, but the soldiers of the Eighth Route Army still rushed forward one after another, the purpose was to rush to the road and fight the Japanese army in a white-knife battle, in the case of insufficient firepower, the white-knife battle was the only chance to win!
Wu Dagui's company was an outpost combat battalion, naturally rushing to the front, after following the regimental commander to rush onto the road, the eighth company of the second battalion of the 686th Regiment and the Japanese army launched a white-knife battle, only to see the sabers flashing, roaring and killing the sky, fighting bloodily for half an hour, the barbaric and arrogant Japanese army was finally cut into several sections, shrunk in several ravines and unable to move!
At this time, the 686th Regiment occupied the commanding heights, there were ambush troops on both sides, in the condescending situation, the Japanese army was beaten to the point of no return, and it was too late for the Japanese to react and want to compete for the commanding heights, although they had cavalry and artillery units, but at this time they had lost their role in mountain combat.
The Japanese army tried several times to charge, but they were all beaten down, and it was difficult to come up to some people, but in the white-knife battle, they could not fight the sabers of the soldiers of the Eighth Route Army, and finally by more than one o'clock in the afternoon, the Japanese troops from Xingzhuang to Laoye Temple had been almost wiped out!

In the Battle of Pingxingguan, the Eighth Route Army completely annihilated more than 1,000 enemy troops, destroyed more than 100 cars, and captured a large number of weapons and materials.
