After the failure of the Autumn Harvest Uprising, the rebel army was reorganized in Sanwan and renamed as the First Regiment of the First Division of the First Army of the Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army, with seven companies under its jurisdiction, of which the strongest was the Special Agent Company, which was responsible for defending Chairman Mao and other leaders of the uprising.
At that time, the party representative of this special agent company was Luo Ronghuan, who later became a marshal, the deputy company commander was Zhang Zongxun, who later became a general, and the company commander Zeng Shi'e died young, which was a pity.
Below, let's introduce Zeng Shi'e's short but brilliant life experience.

Born in 1904 in Yiyang, Hunan Province, Zeng Shi'e was admitted to the Sha Branch of the President of the Whampoa Army in 1927, and participated in the Northern Expedition with the troops, serving as the company commander of the guard regiment of the general headquarters of the 4th Group Army of the National Revolutionary Army, and later transferred to the guard regiment of the general headquarters of the Second Front Army as a company commander.
Please note that this guard regiment is a regiment controlled by our Party and is also the main regiment of the Autumn Harvest Uprising, and the leader of the regiment is Lu Deming, the commander-in-chief of the Autumn Harvest Uprising.
After the reorganization of Sanwan, Chairman Mao, as the former secretary of the party committee, has been acting with the secret service company, which also shows Chairman Mao's trust in Zeng Shi'e.
Zeng Shi'e fought very bravely, could gnaw hard bones, and went through dozens of vicious battles, winning the reputation of "General in the Army".
Everyone knows the Battle of the Yellow Ocean, and Chairman Mao once wrote the famous "Xijiangyue Jinggangshan" for this battle: "The flag under the mountain is in sight, and the drums and horns at the top of the mountain are heard." The enemy was besieged for thousands of times, and I stood still. Barriers have long been tightened, and more united in will. The cannons on the Huangyang Boundary roared, reporting that the enemy was at night. ”
In this defense of the Huangyang Boundary, the actual commander was Zeng Shi'e.
At that time, the enemy took advantage of the emptiness of our defensive forces and seized the opportunity to attack Jinggangshan, and Zeng Shi'e, the commander of the third company who was recuperating from his wounds, disregarded his seriously injured body, walked to the Huangyang boundary of Jinggang Mountain to reconnoiter the terrain, and commanded the strength of two companies to fight bravely with the enemy, and at the same time mobilized the surrounding masses, creating the illusion that the red flag on the mountain was unfurled and the guns were fired in unison, so that the enemy army mistakenly thought that our army's large troops were returning to reinforcements and did not dare to rush to attack again, and our army won the victory in the defense of the Huangyang boundary.
Because of his courage and strategy, Zeng Shi'e was soon promoted to commander of the 2nd Column of the Red 4th Army, his partner was Luo Ronghuan, and the director of the political department was the general Luo Ruiqing. At that time, the commander of the Red 4th Army was Lin Biao, and the Central Military Commission clearly stipulated that when Lin Biao was absent, Zeng Shi'e would act as the commander of the army.
Because Zeng Shi'e led the troops well, the 2nd Column soon became the most effective unit of the Red 4th Army, and even Chairman Mao praised it: "After the Gutian Conference, Zeng and Luo led the 2nd Column into a team with the most combat effectiveness. ”
Later, the 2nd Column was changed to the 11th Division, with Zeng Shi'e as the division commander and Luo Ruiqing as the political commissar.
In the first anti-"encirclement and suppression" operation, there was a major battle result, that is, the enemy division commander Zhang Huizhen was captured alive and more than 9,000 Zhang's troops were completely annihilated.
In the second anti-"encirclement and suppression" operation, Luo Ruiqing, political commissar of the 11th Division, was hit in the cheek by the enemy's bullets and went to the hospital, and Zeng Shi'e served as the division commander and political commissar, leading the 11th Division to defeat the enemy's 47th Division and turn to 700 miles, Lianke Hongsha and Guangchang, making a major contribution to winning the second victory against "encirclement and suppression".
Unfortunately, in the third anti-"encirclement and suppression" operation, Zeng Shi'e, while leading the death squad to charge, was unfortunately shot by the enemy's machine gun and died heroically, at the age of 27.

When Chairman Mao heard the news of Zeng Shi'e's sacrifice, he wept bitterly and angrily rebuked Lin Biao: "You are red-eyed!" In the future, some battles will be fought, so how can we agree to let senior cadres fight? When the cadres are exhausted, how can the revolution still be carried out? ”
At the Third Zhujie Conference against "Encirclement and Suppression," Chairman Mao proposed that the whole army stand in silence to mourn the martyr Zeng Shi'e.
Afterwards, Xiao Hua personally mimeographed the Central Military Commission's circular order to learn from Zeng Shi'e and issued it to the whole army, and Zeng Shi'e also became the first person to issue a circular order from the Headquarters of the Red Army calling for study.
Due to the urgency of the war, zeng Shi'e's death was not notified to his family until after the founding of the people's republic, in 1950, Zeng Shi'e's third brother wrote a letter to the central government to inquire about Zeng Shi'e's whereabouts, which made it clear that his brother had been sacrificed for 19 years.
The Central Military Commission issued a martyr's certificate to Zeng Shi'e's family and issued a pension of 5 million yuan (old currency, equivalent to 500 yuan), which was the highest at that time.
In the 1980s, Xiao Hua, He Changgong and other old comrades all said that if Zeng Shi'e had not sacrificed, he would have been a marshal when he was awarded the title in 1955.
