The Diqing Prefecture Forestry Inspection Bureau supervised and guided the monitoring of desert locusts

Recently, the Diqing Prefecture Forestry Inspection Bureau went to three counties (cities) to carry out desert locust monitoring supervision and guidance. In order to effectively respond to the risk of desert locust invasion, ensure forestry and grassland production and ecological security in Diqing Prefecture, and reduce hazard losses, Diqing Prefecture conscientiously carries out monitoring and early warning work. In the early stage, through the selection of points on the map and the actual stepping points, the scientific deployment of monitoring points was carried out, and a total of 20 monitoring points were laid out throughout the state, of which 16 monitoring points were laid out in Weixi and Deqin counties, which were the key monitoring counties of desert locusts. Monitoring is mainly based on manual inspections on the ground, organizing personnel to regularly carry out manual inspections of forest land and grasslands, and implementing a weekly information reporting system before the desert locust moves in, and a daily reporting system for information after moving in. When supervising and guiding, it was emphasized that all localities should attach great importance to the monitoring and early warning of desert locusts, strictly enforce the information reporting system, and report it immediately once it is found, and monitoring points with poor terrain conditions should make full use of unmanned aerial vehicles and other forestry monitoring equipment to do a good job in monitoring and investigation. At the same time, it is necessary to carry out good monitoring and early warning of other grassland locusts, and do a good job in the formation of emergency prevention and control teams and material preparations.
