China Education News - China Education News Network News (Reporter Xu Deming) On September 18, a concert of choral classics called "Phoenix Nirvana" was launched at the Tianjin Concert Hall. As the "highlight" of the "Chinese Love" concert of Chinese composers, this concert was co-sponsored by tianjin municipal education commission, Tianjin symphony orchestra and people's music publishing house and other units, and grass-roots teachers played the leading role.

"Chinese Love" Chinese Composer Works Concert is a brand concert in Tianjin, dedicated to promoting Chinese music culture and promoting the works of Chinese composers. The chorus "Phoenix Nirvana" launched at the concert is a choral work created in 1941 by Lu Ji, the first head of the music department of Yan'an Lu Xun Art Institute, which is based on the long lyrical narrative poem of the same name created by Guo Moruo in 1920, creatively realizing the combination of poetry and music, and foreshadowing that New China will stand in the world with a new look. In 1942, the work was premiered in Yan'an.

Another work of the concert, the story chorus "Flying Tiger Mountain", was composed by writer Guan Hua and composer Zhang Wengang in Tianjin in 1951 based on real events on the front line of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. With the theme of "the people are great and invincible", rich artistic expression techniques and strong appeal, the work won the third prize in the international competition for the theme song of "People's Friendship" held in Bucharest, Romania. This is the first time that China's large-scale choral works have won awards in international competitions after the founding of New China, and have had a wide impact at home and abroad. In 1951, the work was premiered in Tianjin.

This year coincides with the 100th anniversary of the creation of the long lyrical narrative poem "Phoenix Nirvana", the 80th anniversary of the creation of the chorus "Phoenix Nirvana", and the 70th anniversary of the creation of the story chorus "Flying Tiger Mountain", the Tianjin Symphony Orchestra and the "Rainbow" Teachers' Choir of Binhai New Area jointly brought two Chinese choral classics to the Tianjin stage.

The grassroots teachers who sang the chorus in this concert came from the "Rainbow" Teachers' Choir in Binhai New Area. Founded in 2011, the choir is composed of music teachers from primary and secondary schools at the grassroots level, as well as teachers of Chinese, mathematics, English and other subjects. In addition to busy teaching, they love beauty and pursue beauty, insisting on weekly choral rehearsals; they sing a wide range of repertoire styles and have achieved excellent results in domestic and foreign performance activities.
