The red-breasted ( scientific name : Dicaeum ignipectus ) is a species of the genus in the family Peckeridae.
It is found in Bhutan, Laos, Chinese mainland, Vietnam, India, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Myanmar, Taiwan, Malaysia, Nepal and Cambodia. The conservation status of this species is rated as non-endangered.
The average weight of the red-breasted is about 5.9 grams. Its natural habitats include subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical dry forests, subtropical or tropical high-altitude thinning, arable land, plantations, and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. It can also be found in open villages , fields , hills , valleys , and other secondary broad-leaved forests , or among stream-side trees , and sometimes in the lower and middle layers of primeval forests. The type of origin of this species is in Nepal and Bhutan.
