Painted ibises encyclopedia
The painted ibises inhabit warm rivers, lakes and swamps, and sometimes move in rice paddies. They prefer to live in groups and often live in groups with other ibises and herons. It feeds mainly on small invertebrates such as aquatic insects, insect larvae, shrimp, crustaceans, and molluscs. The call is a nasal grunting sound that makes a clanging and grunting sound in the nest area. The breeding season varies from region to region, usually in the spring in flocks, laying 3-5 eggs per clutch.
The painted ibises are small in number and have a very narrow distribution area in China, due to the continuous disappearance of swamps and the shrinking area of rivers and lakes, the habitats on which they depend. Make their number dwindling day by day.
In recent years, the citizens of Baoshan have found and photographed the beautiful figure of the painted ibises in Qinghuahai Wetland, Yuehe Park and other places, which is really rare! Kudos to the beautiful surroundings of Dabao Mountain!
