Democracy and totalitarianism, capitalism and socialism
Democracy is not the exclusive product of capitalism, just as totalitarianism is not a necessity of socialism. Just because most capitalist countries in this world have practiced democracy and most socialist countries have implemented a totalitarian system, we cannot assume that democracy and capitalism are inherently a couple, and that totalitarianism and socialism are inherently one and the same. If we combine democracy with a totalitarian system, capitalism with socialism, we can attain the four forms of human society.
The first is capitalism + totalitarianism. This form is undoubtedly the worst, producing a large number of greedy oligarchic groups.
The second is capitalism + democracy. This pattern is better than the first, but it still cannot stop the rapid widening of the gap between rich and poor. In fact, in this form, the widening gap between the rich and the poor is reasonable and legitimate.
The third is the socialist + centralized system. In this form, the most important question is whether the surname "Society" or the surname "Zi" determines the future of the country, and if the surname is "Zi", it will return to the first worst situation.
Fourth, socialism + democracy. This form is almost the best form that can be imagined now, but the operation is very difficult, highly artistic, and requires the people to have sufficient political literacy, rich knowledge, intelligent minds, and far-sighted insights. Delicate "balance" is needed, otherwise it is either "left" or "right". It is ideal, but the difficulty is quite high, and the average person can't play it. It is necessary to adhere to the "balanced", "neutral" and "moderate" ways.
Left and right do not lose their balance, which is called "equilibrium"; before and after do not lose their way, it is called "middle-right"; up and down do not exceed their duty, called "moderation".
In fact, to put it bluntly, there are two things: power and money, which are the general root causes of the social system problems that mankind has faced for thousands of years; two ways: decentralization and management. Capitalism "liberalizes" money, and socialism "regulates" money; the totalitarian system "liberalizes" power, and the democratic system "regulates" power. Therefore, the two releases of power and money, the integration of officials and businessmen, and the oligarchy is in charge; the management of power and money, capital soars; the management of money and decentralization, it is advisable to be cautious; both control of money and control of power, and the most ideal is to put power and money together in a "cage" together.
That is to say, "capitalism" that "leaves capital alone" will eventually be abandoned, while democratic institutions can continue. At the same time, a centralized system of "laissez-faire power without restraint" also needs to undergo a moderate democratic transformation, and socialism will last for a long time. The problem facing the Western countries is not the problem of democracy, but the problem of capitalism; the problem facing the eastern countries is not the problem of socialism, but the problem of excessive centralization.
The fundamental purpose of socialism is to suppress the gap between the rich and the poor, and all institutions serve this purpose. The purpose cannot be changed, the system can be changed. As long as the purpose of curbing the gap between the rich and the poor and making the people prosper together can be achieved, black cats and white cats and mice are good cats.
The fundamental purpose of democratic institutions is to curb the abuse of power, and all forms serve this purpose. The purpose cannot be changed, the form can be changed. We can adapt measures to local conditions and explore forms of democracy that suit the people's feelings and national conditions.
That is to say, it may eventually be a form: socialism + democracy.
According to its different emphases, it can be divided into two forms: democracy under socialism and socialism under democratic system.
This is because countries with democratic systems and capitalism need to abandon part of "capitalism" and carry out moderate "socialist transformation". Thus becoming "National Socialism" under a democratic system. Although they may not admit it. Countries with socialist + centralized systems need to abandon some of the "totalitarian systems" and carry out moderate "people's democratic transformation" to become people's democratic countries under socialism.
