Wu Rongyuan, chairman of Taiwan's Workers' Party, said in an interview with a China News Agency reporter during his visit that the Xinhai Revolution is the common historical memory of compatriots on both sides of the strait and is also a common national asset of compatriots on both sides of the strait. The Xinhai Revolution set a milestone in the great social changes in China's modern history and is of great significance in promoting the history of the national rejuvenation movement. At the current critical moment of moving toward national rejuvenation after a century of struggle, and in the face of the complicated and severe situation across the strait, to commemorate the Xinhai Revolution and to remember the martyrs, we must have the conviction and deed of firmly opposing "Taiwan independence," safeguarding the peaceful development of cross-strait relations, promoting cross-strait integration and development, and realizing the complete reunification of the country.
Wu Rongyuan said: To commemorate the 110 th anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution, we must take history as a mirror, create the future, emulate the spirit of the Xinhai Revolution, regard the goal of promoting the peaceful reunification of the country and opposing imperialist interference, which Dr. Sun Yat-sen struggled for all his life, as our cause, embrace the ambition, backbone, and confidence of Chinese, and continue to make unremitting efforts to build a modern socialist power in an all-round way, complete the motherland's complete reunification, and realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Sun Yali, the great-granddaughter of Sun Yat-sen and president of the Sun Yat-sen Cultural Foundation, also participated in the commemoration. A few days ago, as one of the organizers, she participated in the hosting of two activities: "Two Families, Two Countries, One Locomotive - Commemorating the 110th Anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution" and "Railway Dream, Chinese Dream - Commemorating the 110th Anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution". These two events were held simultaneously online and offline in China and the UK and attracted attention.
In an interview with a reporter from China News Agency, Sun Yali said that this year marks the 110th anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution and the 155th anniversary of Dr. Sun Yat-sen's birth. At present, the country is in a period of rapid development, in many ways to achieve the ideals of the predecessors, but also facing many challenges in the world. Looking back on history, we should learn from the spirit of our predecessors, develop industry, carry out social construction, pay attention to the construction of spiritual civilization and develop China's soft power, and work together for the future of the Chinese nation, Chinese culture and the country.
