The large-scale national opera "Sister Jiang" was staged at the Tianqiao Art Center

In order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the classic national opera "Sister Jiang", which celebrates the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, was recently staged at the Tianqiao Art Center. The play is sponsored by the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the Federation of Chinese Literary and Art Circles; with the support of the Department of Arts of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Propaganda Bureau of the Political Work Department of the Central Military Commission, the Chinese Opera and Dance Theater participates in the rearrangement and production, and has been selected by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism as the "Stage Art Creation Project Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China", and is a key support work of the "100-year-old" traditional fine art rearrangement plan.

The national opera "Sister Jiang" was adapted and composed by Yan Su, a famous playwright and lyricist of the former Air Politics Cultural and Labor Troupe, based on the novel "Red Rock", and composed by famous musicians Yang Ming, Jiang Chunyang and Jin Sha. In the past 60 years, the play has undergone five rehearsals and performed more than 1,000 times, which is a far-reaching and widely acclaimed classic play, and is known as a towering historical monument in the history of China's local opera.

The celebration of the centenary of the founding of the party's classic national opera "Sister Jiang", by the Chinese Opera and Dance Theater President Dr. Tao Cheng as the artistic director, specially invited the famous director Wang Xiaoying to direct, the famous conductor Xu Zhijun as the conductor, the young soprano singer Wang Li as the starring role.

Wang Li is the actor of Sister Jiang in the fifth re-rehearsal of the 2007 National Opera "Sister Jiang" of the Air Politics Cultural and Labor Troupe. In the practice of playing Sister Jiang, learning from Sister Jiang, and being Sister Jiang for more than ten years, Wang Li has always kept in mind the mission and responsibility of literary and art workers, and has personally carried forward the spirit of Sister Jiang. Among the more than 150 performances of the fifth rehearsal of the opera "Sister Jiang", he has performed nearly 100 important performances, including the performance of the opera "Sister Jiang" after the completion of the National Centre for the Performing Arts in 2007, the 50th anniversary of the creation of the opera "Sister Jiang" in the Great Hall of the People in 2012, and the first performance of the national tour of the former Ministry of Culture", which was held in the auditorium of the Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in 2013, and has rich performance experience, easy to put away in musical expression, and more and more skillful in character shaping. In 2018, Wang Li was selected to join the People's Liberation Army Cultural and Labor Troupe, and was the only military literary and art worker invited to participate in the classic national opera "Sister Jiang" celebrating the centenary of the founding of the Party.

Wang Xiaoying's opera "Sister Jiang", on the basis of adhering to the spirit of the original work, strives to achieve the creative transformation and innovative development of classic works. The whole performance focuses on de-stylization, seamlessly connecting singing, lines and performances, improving the fluency of the repertoire, making it closer to the aesthetic needs of contemporary audiences, and realizing the artistic upgrading of classic rearrangements and the constant renewal of performances.
