The oceans cover about 70% of the Earth's total area and are the most important ecosystems in the world. The endless sea carries people's dreams and yearnings. From childhood to adulthood, we have been exploring the ocean, from books, documentaries we peek through the veil to the secrets of the ocean, because of the understanding and love, this mysterious underwater world also carries our happiness.

Take the cute seahorse, did you know that although the seahorse looks like a horse, it is a real fish! The seahorse is a collective term for the seahorse of the genus Seahorse in the family Hydraidae. Don't look at them now, in ancient Greek mythology, the seahorse is still the mount of poseidon, very powerful! The seahorse is the only upright swim in the world, and the only creature in the world that is truly hatched by a male! Seahorses are homely, mainly by camouflaging and lurking to avoid predators and prey, so swimming is not a skill they are good at. The seahorse's dorsal and pectoral fins serve as a driving force for swimming upright, and the swimming posture is beautiful and leisurely when swimming, just like walking or dancing in the water. Although home, but the seahorse dad is the most famous daddy in the marine life! Hippocampus dad raises his baby in the body, provides food and oxygen for the baby and cleans up metabolic waste, so that the baby grows up healthily, is a well-deserved "model dad".
The origin of the hippocampus family can be traced back to more than 30 million to 20 million years ago, and like humans, the living environment of the hippocampus family is also diverse. Some seahorses prefer to "see the scenery" and often inhabit colourful coral reefs, verdant seagrasses and mangroves crisscrossing the tropical coastline. Some of the more "shy" seahorses prefer to live in garden-style sponges and seaweed... In fact, the seahorse is a powerful camouflage master. Some of the family members have filaments that resemble algae, and some can specialize in sarcoma-like spines like gorgonian corals. The seahorse disguises itself by simulating the shape of its surroundings and "hide-and-seek" with the "enemies", thus taking the opportunity to protect itself.
There are still many secrets waiting for you to discover behind the seahorse, this golden autumn September, Shanghai Ocean Aquarium grandly launched the Sea Dragon Seahorse Exhibition, through the knowledge of science and the life simulation of the Sea Dragon Seahorse, to reveal the mysterious seahorse world to tourists and friends, while calling on people to pay attention to the protection of the marine ecological environment. At the same time, the Shanghai Ocean Aquarium also ushered in the birth of the mascot HaimaDidi. Haima Didi is a lively and cheerful male little seahorse, he is witty and brave, warm and kind, in the days to come, he will accompany tourists and friends to explore the wonderful marine world together, learn about the popular science knowledge of marine life.
The Sea Dragon Seahorse Exhibition will mainly exhibit four kinds of special forms of sea dragons and seahorse species, namely the line-striped seahorse, the slender-snouted sea dragon, the grass sea dragon, and the puffed-bellied seahorse, and will also display the senior neighbors of the two seahorses and sea dragons, the horizontal-banded garden eel and the garden eel. Through the carefully arranged landscape of the simulated environment, visitors can intuitively feel the living environment and behavior of sea dragons and hippocampus creatures, and also understand the unique biological characteristics of sea dragons and hippocampus creatures and the survival crises they face through rich scientific knowledge introduction.
Shanghai Ocean Aquarium and new friend HaimaDidi welcome all tourists and friends, in this season full of harvest, let us harvest knowledge, harvest joy, harvest love for the ocean. I hope that every friend who loves the ocean can spread the concept of marine environmental protection more far-reaching, and then drive more people to pay attention to the ocean and protect the ecological environment.
Everyone who yearns for the ocean has an aquarium in their hearts!
