The pelars that have been gnawed by insects stand in stark contrast to other tree species

Public network Liaocheng August 23 news (reporter Cheng Qiaqia) Recently, Liaocheng East A citizen Xiao Zhen dialed the news hotline of the public network Liaocheng channel 0635-8229595 to reflect, saying that in the S324 road Niujiaodian section found that many poplar leaves on both sides of the road were eaten by insects, worried that the American white moth came again. Subsequently, the public network reporter rushed to the accident section to check the situation of the slain tree species, and after sampling, interviewed experts, and the experts analyzed that it was caused by yang Xiaozhou moth, not the American white moth.

There is a thick layer of insect infested excrement under the tree

"Nearly 150 poplar trees were killed at a distance of less than 200 meters, leaving only petioles and veins in the gnawed poplar leaves, and a layer of insect excrement fell on the road under the trees." In the section of the incident that Xiao Zhen reflected, the public network reporter saw that there were indeed large poplar leaves on both sides of the road that were gnawed by insect pests, leaving only bare trunks. From a distance, one can drift from the supposedly lush summer to the winter when the leaves are falling.

"On the roof was a thick layer of white moth carcasses, and the capture of American white moths became a top priority, and the whole village moved." Xiao Zhen, who studied at Northeast Agricultural University, recalls the insect plague in his hometown in 2008 and still remembers it vividly. Xiao Zhen said that because he is an agronomy major, he will pay special attention to various plants around him on weekdays, and recently he accidentally noticed that a large number of poplar leaves in his hometown were eaten by insect pests, and he was worried that the American white moth would strike again and cause harm to the tree species in his hometown.

According to records, in 2007, the American white moth was introduced into Chiping and Dong'a counties in Liaocheng, and showed a rapid spread trend that year, affecting all counties (cities, districts) in Liaocheng, with an area of 170,000 mu. In 2008, the white moth epidemic in the United States continued to spread rapidly, widely occurring throughout the city and causing outbreaks in local areas.

The reporter learned that the American white moth is a typical multi-food pest, which can harm more than 200 kinds of forest trees, fruit trees, crops and wild plants, of which mainly harm a variety of broad-leaved trees. In the section of the road reflected by Xiao Zhen, only poplar tree species were eaten, and no trace of the American white moth was found at the scene.

Why are the gnawed trees only concentrated in the territory of Dong'a Niu Kok Dian? Why are only poplar tree species killed? And why has there been no trace of insect infestation? With these questions in mind, the reporter interviewed experts in plant protection and forest pest control| - Liu Shouzhu of the College of Agriculture of Liaocheng University and Liu Zhiyong, the station manager of the Dong'a Forest Protection Station.

"Yang Xiaozhou moth is at work." Liu Shouzhu analyzed that the insect pest should be Yang Xiaozhou moth. It is understood that the larvae of Yang Xiaozhou moth eat poplar leaves, the American white moth can gnaw on a variety of broad-leaved trees, combined with the incident road section but only poplar trees are affected, so the insect infestation is mainly Yang Xiaozhou moth, Liu Shouzhu said, this time period should be the pupal period of Yang Xiaozhou moth, so no trace of live insects was found.

"The last time the flight defense did not control the niujiaodian road section, so there was an insect infestation." For why only the insect plague occurred in the east A Niujiaodian road section, Liu Zhiyong gave an answer. It turned out that in the aircraft pest control in May and July this year, because there were people raising shrimp in the territory of Niujiaodian, they were afraid that the anti-spraying drugs would affect the growth of shrimp, so they avoided 2 kilometers.

At the same time, this year's continuous high temperature, short rainy weather and other weather reasons have given Yang Xiaozhou moth favorable conditions for rapid growth and reproduction, which eventually led to the occurrence of some poplar trees in the East A Niujiaodian road section.

"On the 28th, we will fly again, and we will treat this section of the road." Liu Zhiyong said that on the 28th of this month, aircraft spraying drugs will be implemented again to control insect pests, and at the same time, ground prevention and control will be carried out for the road section of the incident, which will completely eradicate the current situation, and the people do not have to worry.
