Sunmiao Township, Lixin County, held a training meeting on disease and pest control

On September 1, Sunmiao Township, Lixin County, organized a training meeting on the prevention and control of forest diseases and insect pests in the township in the conference room of the township finance office, and Li Jiarui, deputy township chief of the township, presided over the meeting, and the person in charge of the forestry station conducted professional training on forest disease and pest control work for the forest chiefs of each village (community).

At the meeting, the person in charge of the forestry station listed common forest diseases and insect pests, such as willow poison moth, Yang Fanzhou moth, Yang Xiaozhou moth, which will cause poplar leaf-eating diseases and insect pests, and gave a detailed explanation of common diseases and insect pests from the aspects of disease and insect harm, transmission sources, prevention and control measures, and disposal methods, and asked all villages (communities) to be vigilant, strengthen prevention, and ensure that no diseases and insect pests occur. Deputy Township Chief Li Jiarui emphasized the daily management and protection of forest resources and arranged for the next forest disease and pest control work.

After the training, Deputy Township Governor Li Jiarui put forward several requirements for doing a good job in the prevention and control of diseases and insect pests: First, increase attention and strengthen understanding. Deeply understand the necessity and importance of forest disease and pest control work, and strictly practice the development concept of "green water and green mountains are golden mountains and silver mountains"; the second is to arrange in advance and make full deployment. Cut down dead trees in a timely manner, do a good job in cleaning up, increase vigilance, timely quarantine, and prevent the spread of forest diseases and insect pests; the third is to strengthen publicity and guidance. Township forestry stations should do a good job in publicizing and guiding the prevention and control of forest diseases and insect pests, and guide all villages (communities) to adopt scientific and effective biological control methods to avoid the occurrence of diseases and insect pests.
