As a key stage play in Zhejiang Province to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the opera "Red Boat" was jointly produced by the Propaganda Department of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Department of Culture and Tourism of Zhejiang Province, the Jiaxing Municipal Party Committee of the Communist Party of China, and the People's Government of Jiaxing Municipality, and jointly performed and produced by Zhejiang Performing Arts Group (Zhejiang Song and Dance Theater Co., Ltd.), Zhejiang Symphony Orchestra, Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, Propaganda Department of Jiaxing Municipal Party Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Jiaxing Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Film and Tourism, which lasted for 4 years and was created by more than 400 people.
The outstanding stage art exhibition and performance activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China were sponsored by the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the Federation of Chinese Literary and Art Circles, and 140 outstanding works created around the theme of celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way and realizing the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, as well as rehearsed classic works, were selected from all over the country to be exhibited and performed from May to July 2021. Gao Yu, male, a native of Chicheng Subdistrict, Tiantai County, is a young tenor singer of Zhejiang Song and Dance Theater, a national second-class actor, the deputy director of the Vocal Performance Center of Zhejiang Song and Dance Theatre, a director of Zhejiang Musicians Association, and the secretary general of Zhejiang Provincial Democratic League Art Troupe. He has won the Gold Award of Ethnic Singing at the 3rd International Chinese Arts Festival, the Gold Medal of the 8th Zhejiang Provincial Music and Dance Festival, the Gold Medal of the Ethnic Group of the 1st "Siasong Project" Young Singers Competition in Zhejiang Province, and the Gold Medal of Singing in the 2019 "Poetry and Painting Zhejiang" Provincial Tourism Song Contest.
He has participated in large-scale literary and artistic evenings and performances in the country and the province for many times, and has represented the Ministry of Culture and the Provincial Department of Culture in visiting Germany, Uruguay, Argentina, Japan, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Norway, South Africa and other countries, as well as Taiwan and Hong Kong, and has been unanimously praised by leaders and audiences. He played the male number one Du Chengrong in Zhejiang's first original musical "Blue Eyes, Black Eyes", and played the male number one "Demon King" in Zhejiang's first animation musical "Magic Wonderland", the male number one Liu Chen in the musical "Tiantai Meets Immortals", and the male number one Lu Jiachuan in the national opera "Song of Youth".
