Oh My Girl Willow Me: I'm a person and I can't help but experience setbacks

Oh My Girl's YooA was recently interviewed by GQ Korea and Pictorial! During the interview, YooA was asked to draw a chicken, and YooA happily agreed. In the interview, YooA replied: "I like to draw a lot. When I have something I want to express, I draw it without thinking. A week ago I drew something with crayons. YooA went on to explain that she was painting the countries and places she imagined, and she was also expressing her heart. If you're worried about what other people think of you, you'll end up being trapped by their expectations, she said. When I want to face my true self, I draw. Lately I've been painting a lot of natural things like grass or flowers.

YooA recently made his solo debut with his debut mini-album, Bon Voyage. While you may be surprised to see a different side of me, this side of me has always existed.

When she first heard the song, YooA said she imagined a wolf girl who grew up in the forest, completely cut off from the world. After imagining the movements and habits of a wild but pure character, YooA tried her best to express them through performance. "I even tried to live offstage as this wolf girl." She revealed. "I might look like a lunatic. But I don't eat grass! She added with a smile. In the interview, everyone said that they were moved to tears by her performance and praised her performance as a composite work of art. YooA expressed a desire to break down K-pop barriers, saying: "I hope that the prejudice that K-pop artists must sing or dance in some way can be removed." To be honest, I find it scary to say these things because people might think I'm a person who is arrogant about my art.

She also said: "As a person, I can't help but experience obstacles, so I think I've always wanted to escape from those obstacles." I don't want to be stuck in the barriers I've set up. It's easy to break the walls that others have built, but it's not so easy to break your own walls. I want to tear down my own walls. I think I have a huge thirst for freedom.

Dance is a way to give YooA a way to exercise freedom. She noted that she recently started learning modern dance and is excited to dance freely to her own pace. She elaborates: "I express the sun through my body, and I move freely in this way. It's a song about the beginning of the world, and it feels very sad. I started in one place and ended in another, but I don't remember what I did. When I opened my eyes, I was sitting there crying. I feel like I've fully recovered from the trauma about dance. I want to tell people without hesitation that while I'm smart and energetic, I also have the complete opposite side. When asked if there were any words or phrases she used regularly, YooA chose "thank you" and "happiness." She explains: "I live for happiness and I work hard to achieve it. I want everyone to be happy. That's why I'm a singer.

YooA met many other artists during the promotion of her solo album, but she chose ShiNee's Taimin as the artist who made an impression on her. "I end up watching him rehearse and perform a lot," she said. He's the one who pulled out the kind of vibe I was looking for perfectly. I felt like I was watching a performance that went beyond simple compliments like 'amazing, well done'. I even briefly thought about what I would be like if I followed in The footsteps of Tai Min and continued my personal career. What will I look like in five years?

In response to a question about her combination Oh My Girl and their inner strength, YooA said: "My combination is a bit unusual and special. After we starred in 'The Manager', we were often asked if we were really acting like we did on the show. We really are like that. We visit each other's homes, and our daily lives create the kind of teamwork we have. It is because of our teamwork that we can bring fresh output to everyone. We all grew up while being true to ourselves.

At the end of the interview, YooA asked: If "Oh My Girl" had a documentary, what would be the name? YooA said the title she had in mind was "The Ugly Duckling." The Ugly Duckling was a loner from childhood because he was different from others, and later found himself a beautiful swan, she commented. Oh My Girl is like that. Although we thought we were ugly ducklings at first, we later became mature swans.
