Du Pengcheng, Wang Wenshi, and Wei Gangyan, the three literary predecessors, and the older generation of writers Ke Zhongping, Ma Jianling, Liu Qing, Hu Cai, and Li Ruobing, are all outstanding writers of the Three Qin Dynasties who will forever be in the history of Contemporary Chinese literature, the forerunners and founders of the literary Shaanxi Army, and the pillars that support Shaanxi as an important town of Chinese literature.

Comrade Du Pengcheng was praised as the founder of China's revolutionary military literature with his magnificent "Defending Yan'an." He has dedicated excellent works to new Chinese literature in the fields of long, medium, short and prose, and directly inherits the soul of the "History" and the legacy of Sima Shi.

Comrade Wang Wenshi is a divine hand in writing about the countryside and peasants, echoing the gushing Yellow River across the Group of Writers in his hometown of Shanxi. His short story collection "Night of the Wind and Snow" looks at life with a smile and is a masterpiece of art on the high standard side.

Comrade Wei Gangyan is a literary nomad who walks in the army, factory, and mining area, and has played a different song in the prose field with "Boatman Song" and "Green Leaf Praise".

Lao Du's works are like imposing choruses and symphonies; Wen Shi's works are national music that exudes earthy atmosphere and popular interest; Lao Wei's works are like high-pitched and melodious violin concertos.

I have had the privilege of having had some contact with three predecessors in the past few decades, and I still have the afterscent of my hands and the warmth of my heart...

At the beginning of reform and opening up, I wrote a long commentary on "On the Problem of Creating Reflection on the Undercurrent of Feudalism" and published it in the headlines of Shanghai Literature. The article takes Lao Du's "In The Days of Peace" as an example and analyzes the undercurrents of feudal thought in real life. After Lao Du saw it, he immediately asked me to go to my parents to talk, saying that this was a new angle and a discovery in interpreting his works. In the future interaction with Lao Du, the most impressive thing is that this is a writer who will never give up until the last moment of changing the manuscript. He often came out of his house on the front foot and was called back to pick it up for a while. Sometimes the manuscript is on the page, and there are several calls to change a sentence or a certain word. In his later years, Lao Du suffered from facial muscle twitches, watching this literary old man who had gone through all the vicissitudes twitch his facial features and shake his hands, and he painstakingly revised the draft on the small sample one by one, and his heart was flooded with wisps of pain and admiration.

Wen Shi is also a very serious person, and I once wrote an article in the People's Daily on his "On the Beach". There is a response to every manuscript, and sometimes I reply with a beautiful brush letter, which I have treasured as a calligraphy work. I remember that there was a meeting when he couldn't come, and he wrote me a long letter of seven or eight pages, and the older generation of writers was so meticulous about the words that I was ashamed of myself.

I had an experience with Lao Wei in interviewing Zhao Mengtao. I participated in the Shaanxi Daily reporting team to write a long newsletter, and he wrote the reportage "How the Red Peach Opened". We went to the spinning workshop with Zhao Mengtao's group at the First Cotton Factory and visited together. His reportage "How the Red Peach Opened" had a great impact on the whole country and left a glorious mark on literature and history. Last year, Zhao Mengtao's group was also named "Model of Three Qins". 60 years later, I was a guest at the awards ceremony to interpret the glorious spirit of Dream Peach.

The three predecessors and the writers of their generation created the glory of the literary Shaanxi Army, and also created and laid the spiritual tradition of the literary Shaanxi Army. In the generation of Lu Yao, Chen Zhongzhong, Jia Pingwa and Chen Yan, as well as the three Qin writers after the 70s, 80s and 90s, they have been passed down from generation to generation, constituting the Shaanxi style of China's contemporary literary scene.

A spiritual tradition that integrates one with the country. They insist on combining with the masses of the people to achieve multiple objectifications in life practice, life pursuits and artistic spirit. Lao Du was a war correspondent during the Liberation War, and accompanied the troops from northern Shaanxi all the way to Guanzhong, then advanced to Pamir, and later to the Railway Engineering Bureau. Wen Shi went from northern Shaanxi to Xi'an with the Northwest Literary and Labor Troupe, and went to Weinan in the late 1950s to work part-time. Old Wei first lived in the army, and later went to the railway site, Daqing oil field, and textile factory to live deeply. Generations of Shaanxi writers have adhered to this tradition, mingling with the people in their lives, not separating themselves from the masses spiritually, and the source of the life of the times has stimulated the blowouts of Shaanxi literature one after another.

Pursue the creative tradition of Huang Zhong Da Lu. Each generation of literary Shaanxi Army has adhered to this extreme self-confidence and self-esteem of the writers of the previous generations in literature. Everyone competes to write long stories, write epics, pursue great innovations, and pursue big books with thick pillows. This is a rare spirit of Shaanxi writers, a kind of literary high standard.

There is also a tradition of fighting dedicated to literature. The literary Shaanxi Army devoted himself to literary creation without hesitation. Hanging beams stabbed strands, burned anointing and followed the dial, for the Yi people to get haggard, the belt gradually widened and finally did not regret, has long become the group image of the literary Shaanxi army.

Under the guidance of Shaanxi's literary predecessors, let us base ourselves on the plateau, towards the peak, go forward and follow, and climb endlessly!
