Shaanxi commemorates the centenary of the birth of Du Pengcheng Wang Wenshi Wei Gangyan

Recently, a symposium to commemorate the centenary of the birth of Mr. Du Pengcheng, Wang Wenshi, and Wei Gangyan, co-sponsored by the Joint Department of the China Writers Association, the Propaganda Department of the Shaanxi Provincial CPC Committee, and the Shaanxi Provincial Writers Association, was held in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. Qiu Huadong, secretary of the Secretariat of the China Writers Association; Cheng Ningbo, deputy director of the Propaganda Department of the Shaanxi Provincial CPC Committee; Jia Pingwa, vice chairman of the China Writers Association and chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Writers Association; Qi Yali, secretary of the party leading group and executive vice chairman of the Shaanxi Writers Association; and An Guangwen and Yan An, vice chairmen of the Shaanxi Provincial Writers Association, attended the meeting. The symposium was presided over by Peng Xueming, director of the China Writers Association's Creative Joint Department.

Qiu Huadong said: Du Pengcheng, Wang Wenshi, and Wei Gangyan, three literary predecessors, came from the smoke of war and entered the literary world with revolutionary literary and art fighters as the starting point. They embraced the new life with enthusiasm and enthusiasm, praised the new era, and most of their works were deeply imprinted with the mark of the times, and the high passion of that era was condensed between the lines, inspiring the enthusiasm of the people at that time to brave the difficulties and hard work. They are not only Shaanxi writers who have come all the way from Yan'an to hold high the banner of red literature, but also Chinese writers who will never fade into history. Writers and literary workers should learn from the firm ideals and convictions of the three predecessors, learn from their infinite loyalty to the party and the people, learn from their tradition of realist literary creation that walks in the same direction as the times and strives to reflect the great process of social and historical change, and learn from their people-centered creative orientation.

Cheng Ningbo said that the three writers have always had expectations for literature, and have devoted a lot of effort to popularizing, disseminating, inheriting and carrying forward national literature and culture, building the literary contingent of the Shaanxi Army, and creating literary masterpieces. Deeply remembering them today, reviewing and recalling their spiritual style, creative process and literary achievements, is of great significance to the creation of Shaanxi literature and the promotion of the continuous brave climbing of the Shaanxi army in the new era.

Jia Pingwa said: Du Pengcheng, Wang Wenshi, and Wei Gangyan are three great writers, and the generation of writers who have taken them as the backbone have created the splendor of Shaanxi literature. Reviewing and sorting out their literary achievements and valuable spiritual wealth is a remembrance and tribute, a summary of experience, and a mobilization to promote Shaanxi literature to continuously innovate on the basis of inheriting traditions.

At the forum, everyone jointly expressed their nostalgia, admiration, and gratitude for Du Pengcheng, Wang Wenshi, and Wei Gangyan, saying that they were people's writers who created for the people, were loved by the people, and won the respect of the people, and were demonstrators and representatives who inherited the traditional Chinese virtues and kept pace with the times. Their personality, literary qualities, temperament, and weather are the models of Chinese writers and the wealth of Chinese literature.
