People's Daily Harbin, June 4 Recently, the staff of Heilongjiang Huzhong National Nature Reserve accidentally found a red bird with eyebrow lines and necks in the process of wild animal and plant investigation and monitoring, which was identified by experts in the reserve as an adult male red-necked plover. According to the "List of Birds Taxonomy and Distribution in China", the red-necked plover generally inhabits the open coniferous forests of Siberia. This species of bird is only found in a small number in northeast China, and is the first to be found in the Huzhong National Nature Reserve.

It is reported that the red-necked plover, commonly known as the red-necked plover, has a body length of about 25 cm. Adult males have grey-brown upperparts, reddish-brown eyebrows, sides of the neck, throat, and thorax, gray-brown wings, light tail feathers, brown feathers, yellow beak, black tips, and nearly brown feet, and make foot-length jumps when on the ground.

Heilongjiang Huzhong National Nature Reserve belongs to the cold temperate coniferous forest ecosystem nature reserve, which is rich in resources and has significant characteristics of cold temperate biodiversity. The area has typical characteristics of cold temperate birds in the Palearctic region, and its bird composition can be used as a representative of the northern bird fauna. Due to the long sunshine time, high temperature, heavy precipitation and abundant food in the reserve, there are 146 species of birds inhabiting the reserve, including the class I protected birds such as black-billed grouse, oriental white stork and golden eagle; and the second-level protected birds include Mandarin duck, flower-tailed hazel chicken, snow owl, sparrowhawk and other 22 species.
